There is an extensive selection of excellent hotels in San Francisco to suit all tastes and budgets. Luxury hotels tend to be located around Downtown and Chinatown. Along with the big names – the Ritz Carlton, Hilton, Omni or the Mandarin Oriental – are independent boutique hotels. For travellers on a shoestring there is a good range of hostels and B&Bs. Head away from the city centre to find the cheapest prices, or to surrounding areas around the Bay. Mid-range San Francisco hotels are also easy to find. For good value accommodation consider Travelodge or the Best Western chains.
