The Soho Hotel is housed in a 19th century red brick building in fashionable, and bustling, Soho. The hotel is set 200 metres from both Oxford Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. All rooms include air conditioning, LCD television with satellite channels, wireless Internet connections, CD/DVD players and minibars. Italian and Moroccan platters are available to share over drinks. The dining room features a long pewter bar, quirky murals and plants in large terracotta pots. Conferences and social functions can be held in the event rooms, some of which occupy the penthouse level with views of the West End and beyond. There are two screening rooms with modern audiovisual facilities and cinema seating. Health facilities include a fully equipped gym and beauty treatment rooms where massages are also available. The higher-category rooms here are huge. That's rare in London. Last time I had a pair of sofas, a big desk, a king bed, and room to waltz. The views are not great, since it's in the middle of Soho. But the access to nightlife, dining, theater can't be beat. The decor is groovy. The dining room has good food. As with other hotels in the Firmdale group, it's the fastest room service I've ever had anywhere, and pretty reasonably priced (at least in relation to the room rate). They have sold me on Tivoli Audio radios, which are by each bed and in each bathroom -- I'm now giving them to my friends...

It would be impossible to find anything even close to awful about this hotel. The concierge was incredibly helpful in getting us theatre tickets and dinner reservations...the location was fantastic - lots of little cafes as well as theatres and bars in the area...the room was decorated in with floral patterns but managed to be neither too feminine nor too country...it was simultaneously contemporary and cozy. The towel rack in our bathroom heated the towels! We had a shower and a beautiful tub and two sinks. The Restaurant downstairs - ReFuel - was fabulous!!

Great Hotel Large rooms and friendly staff. A tad expensive on the room service, but overall it was a great stay.

Very average. I can not understand how this property got a 5 star rating. Their sister property, The Haymarket Hotel, should be the one who got the 5 star rating. I would highly recommend the Haymarket to everyone going to London. The staff, the food, the service all were excellent. Their are 7 hotels in the Firmdale Hotel family. I only visited the 2 mentioned. I will be contacting the Firmdale Hotel group to also let them know how and why I rated their the 2 properties as I did.
