A Little Room We had stayed for a weekend in a large room at this hotel 2 years ago and liked it. The staff is very kind, the room is spotless and the included) breakfast is really good. This time we had a very small room which is difficult for two adults to negotiate and though we requested a larger room it was unavailable. The hotel is very central and the metro is close so it is a good place to stay but for a short period. Traveler's tip on dining The Oratory restaurant, is right around the corner. It’s reasonable and good. Memories of India on Gloucester Road--reasonable and delicious Star of India-Old Brompton Rd.--pricy but great

Excellent Location and Value We found Carluccios Restaurant which is near the South Kensington Tube Station an excellent choice for meals. The Good Earth, a Chinese Restaurant on the way to Harrods was excellent food but expensive. But then again its all expensive. No bargains in London but a marvelous city and worth the expense overall.

We had the fright of our lives in the middle of the night as we found our hotel room door propped open with our clothes, and my wallet, passport and credit cards were stolen while we slept.

It was more like a motel you'd find off the interstate in the middle of Tennessee. I think it was rated a "4-star" hotel for its location rather than its qualities.

Easy walking distance to the S. Kensington tube station to the west or the Knightsbridge tube station to the east. Right on Brompton Road/Thurloe so easy distances for wonderful shopping at Harrod's or Sloan St. Someone entered our room between 12 am and 3.30 am and stole our passport and credit cards. The hotel's response was minimal. They would not even provide us an extended check-out so that we could go to the Embassy and get things in order. There was no concern for guest welfare. There are no CCTV's within the hotel. The hotel manager did not check-in with us and declined to meet us in person before we checked-out Stay AWAY! Please be careful before booking this hotel. Having arrived after an overnight flight we were looking for a decent, quiet hotel with a great shower (often hard to find in London) in the west side of London. The Rembrandt filled that to a 'T'... a pleasant surprise. The beds were comfortable, the location was great right across from the natural History Museum, easy walk to Hyde Park, Harrods. We'd use it again. The extra plus was the fantastic breakfast buffet that was included. As long as you are not looking for luxury, you should be happy with this older style hotel. Quality location, food and shower.

Hotel might have been 4 star with a stretch of The imagination but rooms were definitely 1 star. I have stayed in London rooms before and know there is a difference between rating a U.S. room and a Europe room but this was THE PITS;. I was EXTREMELY disappointed in this room;.

The location was excellent-close to the tube and across the street from the V&A, breakfast was very good and the hotel was pretty. We stayed 8 nights the first week in a very small room, but comfortable, checked out for the weekend and returned for 1 night and had a large, lovely room for 1 night which we were told was the same price as the small room - would liked to have had more room for the 8 nights. Overall we would stay there again - if we can get the larger room.

Average Do NOT go to the first Italian on the left hand of the road, as you walk to Harrods- the food was poor.
