Ideal London location Straight shot from Heathrow to So. Kensington and easy walk from underground. Friendly, helpful staff. Interesting shops and restaurants in the area, including Gloucester Road. We would happily use the hotel again for a good central location.

Very reasonable for London. We loved the neighborhood (S.Kensington), and it is a few blocks from the tube, the parks, museums, and fine small restaurants. Staff was courteous and helpful.

Impressive and convenient My wife and I stayed at the hotel in early February. The hotel is within 10 minutes walk to the South Kensington tube station, which is at pretty much the center of London. We just took Piccadilly line from the airport with luggages and it’s not bad. There’s a Tesco convenient store along the walk to the tube station and you can buy anything from breakfast, water to fruits. The only complaint that I might have is the I can always hear the sound of dripping water at night. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks We used Oyster card for both tube and bus which is very convenient for us.

In a wonderful location, this small Hotel really stands out. Located within easy walking distance from the South Kensington station, the Regency is a great buy and a comfortable respite. The non-smoking room was darling, clean and comfortable. The beds were made up with white duvets that were obviously washed. The bathroom was very large, even by U.S. standards, and very clean. Including the corners and the tile grout. The lobby was lover-ly, but EVERYONE smokes in London, so we never really sat there. If you go, turn left out the door and walk to the french pastry shop (Boulanger)around the corner and have the creme brulee! Two great museums are also just around the corner and all of London is a tube ride away. There's also a bus stop right in front of the door. Be sure to LOOK LEFT or LOOK RIGHT and MIND THE GAP.

Boutique Hotel Experience Easiest place to get a cab - cabbies are plentiful and often park in the center section of Queen's Gate road in front of the hotel.

Great Location in South Kensington - London The hotel was very well located for just about anything in central London. The tube (subway) is just a few blocks walk and there are many small restaurants within short walking distance for less expensive dining. The hotel does provide room service but portions are not that great and food quality is good but not great. The hotel itself has some worn furniture in the rooms and some wallpaper gaps and we did experience some difficulty with not having hot water but the staff was courteous and moved us to another room. I would return to this hotel. Staff was nice and the location great. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay If you take the Gatwick Express train or Heathrow Express into Victoria station, then a cab to the hotel you will save a significant amount on transportation. Also, the weekly tube pass can be purchased at the airport train ticket booth; a big savings. For theater, the Half-price ticket booth at Leicester Square station cannot be beat for pricing and good last minute seats. China town for dining is just a couple of blocks from the theaters and offers some great food at not too high a price.

Very Impressed - can't beat for the price Great location. Able to walk to most attractions. Also, the Underground is only a few blocks away. Getting a day pass on the underground can get you to most of the main site seeing locations. Many places to each just around the corner.

Would not return The Regency is in a very nice location, in South Kensington, and is on a lovely street. It is an old hotel and looks and feels "worn". The public spaces are nicer than the private areas. The rooms are very clean, but they are exceedingly small, and spare (not even a clock!). In our room, the heat did not work, and, when we first arrived, the lock on the door where our children were staying was broken. The bathrooms were modern and very clean, and the shower was very strong. The beds were variable...some were comfortable and some were not. There was almost NO storage space in the rooms. The staff were very friendly. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks If you travel by bus (no tube) children ride free and adults can buy a very inexpensive day pass. It was also a lot of fun to negotiate the bus system, and ride on the top of the double decker bus.
