Location. The Mad Hatter Hotel is located in the historic Lambeth area of London, England, on the south bank of the River Thames. Major attractions within half a mile of the hotel include the London Eye and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Waterloo Underground station is 500 metres from the hotel. Hotel Features. Occupying three floors in a 19th century building, the Mad Hatter Hotel is air conditioned and offers wireless Internet access. Staff at the 24 hour front desk can provide safe deposit boxes. Breakfast is available each morning (surcharge). If you fancy traditional British food head to the Mad Hatter pub on the ground floor for classic dishes such as Fish and Chips, and Steak and Ale Pie. out of a large group of us we were the only ones to stay at the mad hatter, and to be honest we had the best hotel, they stayed at a more expensive hotel with smaller rooms and a stuffy atmosphere and far from anything sight wise. and id definatly recomend and stay here again. excelent hotel and well worth a stay!! great food too

Lovely "countryside" inn at good location on the South Bank of River Thames. Very friendly service, excellent breakfast, delicious Fuller´s ales. A computer with a printer would be nice, we were a little desperate to find an internet cafe with a printing facility to be able to do our web check-in with Ryanair.

Overall fine, a good hotel and excellent response when we found we had left an article behind. Called us immediately.

Favourite hotel South Bank is my favourite part of London, full of little treasures - the London Eye, National Theatre, Tate Modern (which is also an amazing feat of architecture to take in - formerly Bankside Power Station), the Oxo Tower & lovely little shops & restaurants.

Difficult to fault this hotel. I went there with a group of 17 French people and had no complaints from anyone! Staff very friendly and always ready to help. They even kept the restaurant open for us until 10pm as we arrived pretty late. Rooms are perfect and feel as if they have just been redecorated. Lots of nice details too in rooms. Coffee, tea, chocolate etc in rooms, trouser press, guide on London etc all things to add for extra comfort.

On my recent trip to London I stayed at the Mad Hatter Hotel and I cannot say enough good things about it! Staying there was like staying with your favorite aunt and uncle. The hotel also is a pub where you can grab a bite to eat or just hang with your newly found friends for a pint!

The hotel is in a gret location for central London; a few minutes walk from Waterloo and in the middle of the Tate Moden, Westminster and an Imax cinema. The staff were all very helpful, from check-in to breakfast. The room was spacious with all the necessary amenities. despite a weird spongey floor and some cosmetic flaws, the bathroom was again, spacious and functional. My biggest gripe was that the bar on the ground floor of the hotel had loud music playing until 11 that resonated right through my room (on the first floor). I did stay on a Friday night so maybe it's quieter through the week, but I'd have been annoyed and unsuccessful if I'd needed to get to sleep early. But it was a good pub!

Fairly average Located on the South Bank, the hotel is away from the thriving city centre. It is very close to Southwark tube station though, and only 15 minutes on the bus (cost £2) from Liverpool Street train station. There are a few hidden gems in the way of bars and restaurants on the Cut, and under the nearby railway bridges, and is very handy for the Old Vic theatre and the Tate Modern. Hotel itself is a little isolated in what seems to be an up and coming area that just isn't quite up there yet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were what you'd expect from one of the older, more tired, Holiday Inn's - not a problem in itself, but the hotel was a good bit more expensive than that. A decent spot for the tourist if you are getting a good rate, but would probably stay more centrally if travelling on business.

Room size excellent, furnishings to a higher than average standard for a hotel of this type and price. Restauarant was OK - although there is a no smoking area it was still little too smokey for my liking. Breakfast was good with an excellent choice from the menu's.
