The service at the Claverley was impressive as the staff is friendly and helpful and the location is hard to beat. However, the flashy brochures do not show the rooms as they really are. Our room was tawdry and not well maintained. Several things were broken, the sink taps in the bathroom both produced hot water, the shower handle came off in my hand when I tried to turn it off, the window latch was broken, the pillows (the true sign of a good hotel) were old and lumpy, wall paper was coming off the wall, carpets, both in the room and in the halls, were worn and needed replacement. etc, etc. In short, this could be a four diamond hotel and perhaps it once was, but it's time for a major renovation. I would and will stay elsewhere on my next trip to London.

We stayed at the Claverley Hotel for a week. The area was very safe and upscale, close to the Tube. The hotel staff, especially Joe, was wonderful. They were very accomadating with recommendations of places to visit and dine. We made several food purchases and were allowed to store them in the hotel refrigerator to enjoy at our leisure. A full English Breakfast was included in our visit- the food was good and there was a large variety. The rooms were clean, with sitting areas and marble baths. We were very happy with our choice.

I really can't fault the staff or the location. I requested a quiet room and got one. Travelling to London as a single, female traveller I felt safe in this hotel. The room that I had was tiny I would stay here againand had everything I needed in it but the bathroom was well past it's renovation date. I would stay here again but would ask for a renovated room.

- I waited almost ten minutes for the check-in and it was not an early time to get in.

+ Friendly and helpful. Cooperative when having to leave luggage - Would have liked a cup of tea / coffee in the room.

Great access to Hyde Park and great access to the underground - direct connect to Heathrow if needed. We had a triple, and our third "bed" was a tiny loveseat fold out bed. short and impossible to sleep in. we had to push the other two - twins together and block them from moving with pillows in between so that the three of us could sleep. Room was decorated beautifully and the location was phenomenal. Very quiet street yet only a block from Harrod's and the tube. Breakfast selection was excellent; the usual sideboard selections with hot meals to order.

+ Close to V&A museum Pleasant breakfast, but in fact, common place. - Too much expensive for a very small room;bathroom (showel) not correct: inside repairing is better than cleaning copper handrail outside ! Very disappointed
