The rudest people work here. Front Desk people act like Gods, as if they are bestowing you with grace if they deem to speak to you. Manager ruder than front desk. The hotel could not give us the 2 bed unit we asked- saying they are all fully booked for despite our reserving one. Since we've pre-paid, they insisted on asking $60 more per night to give us a double room. BIG TIME CON GAME here!

We were booked in at the Shaftesbury at Hyde Park, we particulary choose this hotel as it was close to a function we had to attend in Park Lane. Unfortunatly the refurbishment was'nt completed on time and we were relocated to the Shaftesbury Kensington. We were told our room was down two flights of stairs into the basement. The room was furnished to a very high standard but did'nt have a window!

Stayed there for almost 10 days. the hotel was recently renovated and it sported everything anyone would expect for an even more expensive hotel! It is perfectly situated close to the underground. The rooms are really great and definetely it is a plus to have complementary coffe/tea, morning newspaper and a basket of fruits. Not to mention, the free broadband services. Also, the bathroom was featuring a tv screen (!!) and it was new and very clean. Finally, the bed was very confortable. Overall it is a great - great deal, especially for this ammount of money. if the rooms were a little bigger... (just slightly)

When I read reviews on this hotel after I had booked it my heart sank. And things didn't get much better as we approached the hotel and saw all the scaffolding up front.

Stayed for only one night. Great location in London. Room was ideal, staff were nice and a great price of £40.00 for a night. Its not a four star but was very clean, modern and met all my needs. The bed was comfy, t.v. in room. Also had tea and coffee facilities in the room. I would use it again if the price were right. Hotel has a North African/Moroccan theme, which was a nice change.

Single rooms are dark (no window), but well-appointed, and go for an appropriate price. Cheery staff.
