You will not find the luxury you would expect for such an expensive hotel; even worse, you will be puzzled, and sometimes disappointed, for its weird-to-humiliating rules and procedures!

The Royal Lancaster Hotel, located adjacent to the majestic Hyde Park, is truly one of London's finest hotels! Their staff is second to none and very accomodating to whatever the request, regardless of the time.

Overall very nice staff and good accomodations. The room I had (which was an upgrade) was quite noisy ~ some kind of running water sound all night.

My daughter and I stayed at the Royal Lancaster in May 2008 for three days prior to a Baltic Cruise on NCL. When we arrived from Colorado the front desk clerk said our room would not be ready for several hours. We were weary from our all night flight and begged to be accommodated sooner. The clerk disappeared for a moment then returned with a big smile to say they would upgrade us to a room facing the park. Within minutes we were ushered to a small but elegant room with a beautiful view of the park and gardens across the street. It was everything we could have wanted. We upgraded to a full English breakfast which was only a few dollars more. The breakfast room also overlooked the park. It was spectacular, both the view and the breakfast. The location of this hotel is perfect. The tube station is next door and you can swiftly travel to all parts of London. We also traveled everywhere on the double decker red hop-on, hop-off buses which pass by every few minutes. We jumped off in front of Harrads then walked across the park, past the gardens and lakes, seeing Arab ladies swelter beneath their heavy burkas while their husbands and children enjoyed the sunshine in shorts and baseball caps. A few steps away next door is the Black Swan pub where you can sit outside and have a cold ale and some fish and chips. I loved this hotel and hope to return but I wonder what the standard room we booked would have looked like. We were definitely spoiled at the Royal Lancaster.

Good: Our business group selected this hotel for a large group. The rooms were small but was fine for us because we crashed there after long days of tours and sightseeing.

Great Hotel, Great Location Our stay at the Royal Lancaster was very good. Reasonable rates, clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location - easy access to the Underground. Would stay again. Traveler's tip on recreational activities Horseback Riding at Hyde Park - right across the street from the hotel.

Just got back from our first stay in London. Room was ready for our late check in, must have been very recently updated-new bathroom, carpet and bedding. Very clean, easy to crank up the heat. 11th floor was quieter than NYC and larger than we expected. Food at NIPA in hotel was very good, other restaurants within easy walk included Spice of India (right across street from entrance) and ASK a block away. (Italian chain in London).

Exactly what we expected This hotel is ideal for anyone wanting a short break in London, reasonably sized, reasonably priced rooms located in the best part of London - next to Hyde Park, at the end of Oxford Street and next to a Central Line Tube station. Perfect. Out of town prices in an impressive hotel.

My husband and I recently just returned from a trip to London, England. During our checkout at the Royal Lancaster Hotel and to our surprise, we received an outrageous bill for just over 213 pounds in phone charges. (Approximately $420) At first we thought there had to be a mistake since each call charged was used to call the United States using an international calling card. After speaking with the front desk, we came to find out that an ?error? in the way that we dialed out of the hotel caused the enormous phone bill.
