I did not like it because it did not have A/C and the sheets were not changed on a daily basis. The rooms are tooooo small. The only convenience was that I was close to the station, and several restaurants and fast food places. Also...

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling who does not care for the luxuries of a hotel, and is simply looking for a hotel that is clean and has a great location.

Have stayed at the Royal Eagle a number of times before and I have continuosly found the staffs are friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for me in that I can get to the theatres without any hassle, the Paddington station is near which is a bonus. The only minus point is the bedroom, I would prefer duvet (washable ones) instead of blankets which I do not think is hygienic and the beds in the room I was given needed changing. (could feel the springs.)

Stayed there Nov. 2005. Staff was helpful and friendly. Decent location, very small rooms, clean, However this place is very noisy. Hard to sleep even with wearing ear plugs.

+Room was very spacious, tidy and clean. -Our room was very noisy, you could hear everything outside very clearly. The lower level of the room was very cold and the upstairs very warm.

Excellent value for money (we paid £77 in mid June for a duplex room which would sleep five), perfectly acceptable despite a few bits that were tatty and under-maintained, but for that money in London we have already stayed more than once. Excellent brekkie too, good selection and pleasant staff.

Spend some extra $ on a nicer place The only two pluses of this hotel- location and free continental breakfast. This hotel is in a great area- right next to Paddington Station and several good restaurants. The lobby is deceiving, very upkept and classy, however, the rest of the place is in severe need of a makeover. Old carpet, small bathrooms, extremely small rooms, old keys for the rooms that must be turned in at the front desk when you leave (about 12’ x 8’ for two of us!) The elevators are cramped and often out of order, and WiFi is not complimentary, it costs about 60USD for the week, or 12USD/ day (And the signal cuts out all the time!) The Underground also rumbles by about every 10 min., so don’t stay here if you are a light sleeper (we were on top floor, and could still hear it). Never allow them to give you a room in the basement. Courteous, gratious staff, not always on the ball, though Traveler's tip on local attractions This hotel is close enough to walk to Kensington Palace, Notting Hill and Hyde Park.
