Great location! Quiet hotel. Lovely atmosphere. Our room was located in the basement and there was no air conditioner. A fan was provided.

unfortunately, basement room was adjacent to service entrance or air shaft, and noise was extreme until far late into the night. worse, though was lack of follow thru on wake up call each day, the second causing much stress catching homebound flight. nice

The hotel is just around the corner from Paddington station and I had a pleasant stay. The room was quite spacious and being in the back of the hotel, it was really quiet at night. It's located in a square and not facing a main road, so it's probably the reason. The hotel website states you can access free wireless broadband connection, but I was informed of only the LAN connection which would cost you GBP 9.99 a day, however, you can get an access code for free wireless connection from reception, which I found out when I had to use internet in the lobby after check-out... Bummer, still, it was a good value for money overall. The hotel would be one of the candidates when I return to the area in the future.

Jan 29th Stay My friend & I arrived at 10:30am. Room wasn’t ready, but they checked in our bags. We went to grab lunch and came back. They allowed us to check in 90 mins early. Staff was helpful & always greeting us. Housekeeping tended to our rooms twice a day (like on a cruise). The room (1 double bed) was spacious with all the amenities (TV, soap, coffee, etc.) we needed. We didn’t eat breakfast there. They have a bar where we got soft drinks from. The hotel has losts of brochures for tourists to see the attractions. Paddington Station was about a 4 or 5 min walk. Very convenient to the tube and other restaurants - pubs / banks / markets - all 3 or 4 min walk away. Would definitely stay here again. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks There are a few small diners two blocks away. We got a steak with vegs and a soup for 7 or 8 pounds. Going to the classier pubs cost a little more, so stick to the dives and save a few bucks. When taking the tube around, get the "all day pass" for zones 1 & 2 - which is a good portion of London. It was only 5 pounds.
