This newly refurbished hotel in Kensington was absolutely beautiful and convenient. The Parkcity is decorated beautifully in modern maple furniture and doors. (see their website) The lobby and staff were very friendly and helpful. They try to get you in your room as soon as possible after the all night flight. They are located in a neighborhood with very nice walks to pubs and other neighborhoods like Notting Hill. I highly recommend The Brittanica for excellent pub food which was a nice 1/2 mile walk away. We looked at more expensive hotels nearby, and the Parkcity rooms were much larger and more tastefully decorated. The bed was the most comfortable on our trip from London to Scotland. I look forward to going back there if the exchange rate improves.

We stayed for 7 nights in january 2007. Overall the hotel is as described by the others, good location, quiet, clean, efficient, accomodiating and good value. Good airconditioning and nice washroom with rain showers. The bath towers were huge. Bathrobes were provided. (deluxe room). Price wise, it is reasonable for London's standards but expensive compared to US or Canada. We managed to booked directly with the hotel for 129 pounds/night fully paid prior to departure. No major issues or complains with the hotel which is good considering that we were there for 7 nights. Minor issue about the roll-away bed which was too soft for my 10 year old daughter but the staff were very helpfui and gave us more duvet to pad it up. Generally, hotels in Europe and Asian are not geared tor families unlike US or Canada where a double bed is common. Location is good considering that the subway is 5 - 8 minutes walk away and still the street level noise is kept to a minimum. The neighbourhood is good and we had not problem even late in the nights walking back to the hotel. We had a free bottled water every day and fresh fruit at the reception. Good suggestion regarding information about getting off the Earl's Court exit at the Subway station which was important to save some walking distance (given by a traveller earlier). Travelling by bus and subway was easy after you get a hang of where the buses or trains are heading and where the transfer is. It is a little more expensive than some of the other hotels but, if you can afford it, it is definately a good choice to stay.

one of london's best While a bit off the beaten path (10 minutes from Earl Court tube with luggage) the service was excellent and the rooms were quiet. Importantly, the front desk was very accomodating; I had just arrived on an overnight flight and was dissapointed that no room was ready until possibly 3 pm. However, the staff saw this and got one ready. The breakfast room was quite pleasant, with a sunny deck to look at.

+ service, staff - We just didn't like the fact that we should have paid extra money for a simple continental breakfast. Then, we never had breakfast in the hotel.

After going to my room for the night, I watched a bug crawl accross the TV screen.... The room appeared to be clean, but the bathroom wasn't. The owers care about the money then anything else. When I got home I had found I had been bitten on the back of my neck. Thank god I wore long pants and shirt to bed!! Would not recommend this to anyone. Price is low for a reason!

It's a great place to stay Forget the London tour busses. You can get much more from a tube/bus pass and a visitor brochure... at a much cheaper price. We tried a London tour (not the Big Bus but the other one) and in lieu of tour guides they gave us headsets. The headsets didn't work for us or the other passengers. We changed to a brand new bus and the system overheated... again non-working headsets.

A lovely hotel, it deserves all the praise that has been heaped upon it. The bed was on the firm side of comfortable, you might not like it if you are used to a soft bed.

Comfortable, Conveniently located London Hotel in Kensington #1.Quickest and easiest way from Heathrow to London is the Heathrow express train. Buy tickets from kiosks in airport terminal. Arrive in 15-20 min. #2.When you get to Paddington station, buy an Oyster Cardfor the duration of your stay. This is like a pass to the Underground, and you never again have to worry with buying individual tickets for every journey.
