Not the best choice I stayed in the hotel with my family in a quadruple room. Here are the reasons for the bad rating we gave: A. Heating - the heater in our room was broken when we arrived and the tempreture in our room was the same as outside - 2-4C. The handy-man was on holiday and the hotel manager has refused to offer another room for us (although there were two rooms empty at the time and the receptionist was doing her best to help us). For three days, we stayed in the cold room with only a small (and very noisy) fan heater and covered by 8 blankets that the receptionist has kindly provided. B. Shower / Water pressure - it was very difficult to take a shower after 8 pm. The pressure was very weak and water tempreture changed every five seconds. C. Breakfast was rather simple, consisting of buns, jams, butter, cereal and hot drinks. It was possible to order English breakfast as well; however, we had to come for breakfast at least 1 hour before it ends in order to have hot breakfast (to catch the breakfast before the kitchen runs out of necessary ingredients). Perhaps, we were simply very unlucky with the room and all the other guests have not experienced the same. Generally, the location of the hotel is extremely convenient, just 15 min walk from museums and Kennsington park, with plenty of restaurants around.

Not bad for the price and location I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel. Overall the experience was OK. For the price you could not expect much more. The location was great with bus transporation very close by and the metro only minutes away. Traveler's tip on local attractions If you plan on doing a lot of sightseeing look into the London Pass with the travel card. It saved us a lot of money traveking throughout the city and it saved tons on our trip to the Windsor Castle.

Staff were very friendly and helpfu. Linen, towels, room and bathroom were all very clean but overall the facilities (e.g. carpets, walls etc) have not seen renovation in recent years. Reasonable pricing means that large groups of European studens found it a good place to stay also - slamming doors, shouting in the corridors and behaving very noisily until the early hours both nights of my stay. While front desk staff were helpful in trying to shut them up, this added an unpleasant aspect to the experience that one would presumably not have at pricier hotels.

Great location and excellent price for a Kensington hotel. Couldn't fault the staff or facilities at all. Why pay twice the price unless you desperately need the extras of a four-star? I'd stay again!

Excepting food, all right. Very good for students (school trips) and well placed.

Yuck London is extremely expensive and it's hard to find modestly priced hotels, but this inexpensive hotel is to be avoided. It's the first place I've stayed in where I felt my room would be broken into. The place is threadbare, shoddily built, and barely clean. The staff were actually rather nice, but that was a small compensation for the general ickiness of the place. The only thing to recommend it is its location, which was convenient for my needs, but otherwise this place is a must-avoid.

Knowing the pitfalls associated with reserving rooms over the net, I took a gamble into the unknown by booking "The Majestic Hotel" London purely on price basis being somewhat of a cheapskate! We were surprisingly pleased when we arrived at the hotel to find that although nothing fancy, it was more than reasonable for the prices paid. The biggest plus was it's locality as some of the major London attractions were within walking distance. This has certainly given a sceptic of net purchases like myself a welcome confidence!

"You get what you paid" If you are like me, always trying to saved a few dollars, and you don't care where you sleep, this is the perfect place to do it, just be sure you get a good shower.

Not impressed Half an hours walk from Gloucester Road tube, same distance to the V&A, Natural History Museum and the venue we were there for, The Albert Hall.
