Good Service - slightly larger rooms than usually found in the newer hotels.

This was the noisiest hotel I've stayed in. Taxi's and shouting outside. A conecting door into the next room that was so thin we could here the other guests rummaging through their shopping bags. To top it all off a disco started up at 9 pm. Turned out hotel had been taken over by transvesites for the weekend. In the morning the dining room was full of burly men in wigs and make-up. It was so entertaining we almost forgave the rude and unhelpful staff. It could be a nice hotel with a little attention and a boot up the back-side for the staff.

I stayed in this hotel as part of a Contiki trip. It was better than the Royal National, (an upgrade), but otherwise pretty much the same. Smallish rooms, basic accomodations. Its a good place to sleep, rest, or get cleaned up. It's near the British Museum, Russell Square, and a tube station. Across the street from where one of the bus bombs went off. (Mentioned for location info, has no bearing on the hotel). It's fine for it's purpose.

Above expectations. The atmosphere was classier and the rooms were clean and in good shape. Breakfast hall also great, (but) breaksfast was fine. Free wireless internet access in the lobby.

I stayed here several times a few years ago and thought that the hotel was a little shabby but the location is excellent for the University of London and the British Museum. This visit I was pleasantly surprised as the hotel has been refurbished and the room I stayed in was excellent. Overall very good value for a London hotel.
