Stay away from this hotel! Our stay at this hotel was appalling. The staff were very rude and unfriendly and one accused us of not paying, even accosting us in our room! The room was in the basement and had no window to the outside, the room was also tiny and everything vibrated every few minutes due to being very near a tube line. The decor was shabby and lacked cleanliness. The bed sheets were horrible and the scratchy, hospital style'duvet'was stained. The pillows were also incredibly flat and therefore didn't provide any support. The bathroom was tiny with no shelf or cupboard for toiletries and the noise of the fan was incredibly loud. The bathroom door was not secure as it was a foldout door and some of the hooks attaching it were broken. The hotel information claims every room has cable TV but the TV in our room didn't even have the main four terrestrial channels! The only cable channel was Eurosport. The picture also became black and white after a while of watching and stayed that way after being turned off.

Do not pay for a hotel room until you have looked at it first. We were not told that they did not have our room until after we paid for it. They then sent us to another hotel that was the worse hotel room I have ever seen. After returning to the Hyde park court hotel to tell them we would not accept the other hotel and asking for our money back they refused to give it to us. We then had to search many other hotels until we found one with a vacancy, in the end paying more than double the original price. The clerk was the rudest person I have ever met.

although it is a cheap choise in London standards, it is quite a gloomy experience to sleep at hyde park hotel. If you have any other reasonable possibilities - try them!

I didn't realize there was no elevator. The stair case was narrow so my luggage did not fit up the stairs not to mention that it was heavy to carry up four flights of stairs - I ended up leaving it down in the lobby, which was alittle uncomfortable.

Overall the accommodations suited my purpose of needing a place close to Paddington Station. The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean; the staff friendly and accommodating. However the hotel seems run down and is need of a new coat of paint and bathroom refit, particularly the sinks and therefore from a North American point of view it was costly.

I would have liked to be able to read reviews about this hotel, that other hotels next to this one offered the same poor accomodations for '25 instead of '48, that I had to pay upfront and not on check out, that it was so small, noisy and old....photos are not representative at all of what you get.

This hotel was disgusting. The carpet was ripped, the towels dirty, the bathroom creepy, the toilet seat of its hinge, the beds were in poor, poor condition and the pillows very old and stained. I was appalled that I had paid over $150 for one night at this establishment. I will not return and will not recommend it to anyone. It is a shame that people run a business so poorly that they do not provide their customers with a satisfactory place to stay. It needs major upgrades. I cannot imagine a place more seedier than this. Do not stay here.

This hotel is in a great location but needs to be updated. There was every imaginable pattern in the room, not representative of the photographs. We had a family room which had a good layout with a loft. But the bathroom was a prefabricated structure, similar to that found on an airplane. It had two sides; first for the toilet, then the shower and vanity, quite scary. So once the shower has been used forget about using the vanity without shoes on. We were never sure whether the towels were dirty since the maid would leave them hanging throughout the room wherever was convenient such as over the chairs since the bathroom was too small to hang even a face cloth. The beds were never made properly as in the photographs either. The desk staff was quite friendly and helpful. So for someone traveling alone with no plans of staying in the room other than to sleep it may be a good deal. But I won’t be back.
