The location was the best. The room was large by European standards. It was very clean. The surrounding area has everything and it is a safe area. It is right by a subway stop from Heathrow. It was a great place and I would stay there again anytime.

Exellent location. Rooms furnished in pleasantly English style. Best full English breakfast ever. The receptionist at check-in bored to point of rudeness, all others at the front desk polite, smiling, helpful.

I took a room on the third floor near by the fire exit door but through out my five days stay, the fire door has been making banging noise particularly from late night to early morning. Seemingly a number of people were getting in and out through an emergency exits. Also I noted other customers took up rooms on the same floor were out on the hotel passage also in the late evening to early morning. Since I often hear about night time raid in hotels, I was terrified that I could have been a victim. I asked to a staff to check the security camera record but I did not get the answer to my inquiry. If CCTV is effectively placed at every fire exit door and every corner of passage plus if a staff could check the CCTV record promptly without any negativity, I would have felt much safer and comfortable.

The hotel was fine and I had no complaints. It does not seem to offer the luxury amenities that I would normally expect of a 4 star property however such as complimentary bathrobes, upscale shampoos and body lotions etc. or a pressure balances shower. It was a nicely decorated large room, however felt quite dated.

The location is amazing and the staff is not so amazing. Not very knowledgable about restaurants, directions, eetc. The concierge is the bellman and he didn't speak English. We found numerous bed bugs in our beds and that in itself is enough for anyone to steer clear of the hotel. We were at the hotel from July 3-6 of 2007 and after we found bed bugs and subsequent bites I went online to check out previous reviews. I found a review on another travel website, from March of 2007, that also mentioned bed bugs and this poor man had to get cortisone shots for all the bites he had gottten at the Holiday Inn Mayfair.

Excellent place to stay The hotel is located within walking distance of many historical places. The underground is maybe a 3 minute walk to hotel. The hotel is well staffed, very clean and everyone was friendly and helpful. If you get in too early you can leave your baggage, go out and come back at check-in time. Ask for a transformer so you can use your electric items. The hotel supplied it with no charge. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay If coming into Heathrow Airport get a Heathrow Contact return ticket. It is not as fast as Heathrow Express as it makes a few stops but it is worth the money saved. Take a bus tour as they show you places you might miss. Also a river cruise. Pick up an Oyster Pass at the underground and you can use it on all buses and underground in London. Much faster and cheaper than buying a ticket each time. Weekdays the prices are cheaper on some attractions.
