I found the hotel to be very clean with a nice size room. It is located in a quiet neighborhood. The location was not easily accessible from a tube station. The hotel is very well kept.

I stayed in London for 4 days and the hotel was much nicer than expected. The rooms are very comparable to Holiday Inns in the US in both size and quality. I have been to Europe and England many times and would say the room was larger than most and nicer than most. Although I was expecting two twin beds, I was surprised to receive a corner room with two double beds. I am not sure if this is standard or we were upgraded, but it was nice. The common areas were much nicer than the average London 3 star hotel. The only complaint I had about the room is the caulk around the top of the tub was pealing away and you could see a little evidence of mold. Otherwise, the bathroom was very clean, the shower was always hot and water pressure was great. Beds were comfortable, the rooms and hallways did not smell like smoke, the elevators worked, and all in all it was a good hotel. The only downside of the hotel is the location. It is a good 10-15 minute walk from the Kings Cross station, which wasn't horrible, but I wish the hotel was a little closer to the tube. There is a bus stop nearby, but the bus system in London is a little confusing so I couldn't figure out which bus to catch. I'm sure if I wanted to spend a few minutes figuring it out I could have, but I prefer the tube and didn't mind the walk. The staff was very adequate to handle my check in and check out and although foreign, could speak and understand enough English to get me checked in and out, and give directions to where I needed to go. They were also very polite and helpful. I did make a few 0-800 # phone calls and called down to the desk to make sure they were free of charge. The desk told me they were, but when I went to check out, they tried to charge me for them.

After staying in a more upscale 4 star Kensington hotel prior to the holiday inn, I frankly preferred the room in the holiday inn better. The Kensington hotel had small narrow, soft, single beds. The large firm queen-size mattress and decor of the holiday inn was much nicer. With larger TV and more channels, also!

Welcoming and service differs greatly between stays as well as prices offered. Not very many choices of restaurants in the neighbourhood. However, Indian restaurant - good food and friendly staff!

This hotel is a 10 minute walk to kings cross station. There is nothing around it much to see unless you like to look at the large postal sorting facility across the street. we had a great view of all of the postal trucks. This is not a 4 star hotel. no amenities in the room such as individual soaps, shampoo, and conditioners. no mini-bar.
