Big room - a rare commodity in London All in all we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is located in a beautiful London street very close to central attractions, yet in a quiet, green area. The room was surprisingly big! With a large comfortable bed, a nice sitting area, a TV and a very handy kitchenette. The bathroom was also very spacious and pretty modern and clean. The one thing the hotel was lacking was proper service. Although friendly, the staff seemed pretty inexperienced and there wasn’t a day that we didn’t have to call the desk asking for clean towels, toilet paper or soap...But all things considered, we definitely recommend this hotel. Great choice for travelling with little children. This hotel offers baby cots (although the cot is basically a very simple travel cot. But it is enough). And the large spacious room was great for our 1.5 year old to run around. And finally, the location is great - very close to Bloomsbury Sq. and Coram Fields, both have great playgrounds!

Great location and service My wife and I stayed at the Buckingham for 6 nights on a vacation to London and Paris. The location is great -- out of the way of all the hustle and bustle, but an easy walk to all the sights. The street the hotel is on is very quiet. A less than 5 minute walk to two different tube stops on the Picadilly line (which goes downtown, and directly to Heathrow which is much more convenient and cheaper than the Heathrow Expess). Also only one stop from King’s Cross, which made access to Luton easy for a quick hop to Paris. Hotel is also a short walk from Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road. The hotel itself is nice, with friendly, helpful staff. The beds are a bit firm, but fine once you get used to them. Was extremely happy with the nice big bathrooms and the kitchenette in the room.

British Museum Friendly The hotel was well located if one wants to explore the environs of the British Museum. It was difficult for our cab driver to find. Staff was courteous and friendly. The room was adequate, but had a very stained and dirty bedspread and "ratty" blanket. Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks Considering the miserable exchange rate (USD/Pound), it was reasonable for what was offered, however needs some sprucing up.

Tranquil in London This hotel is quiet and well located -- very near the British Museum and several Tube stops. The breakfast buffet was lovely. The bedroom and bathroom were huge -- a luxury for London! Having a refrigerator in the room was a big help too! The staff members were efficient and helpful, and I would definitely stay here again.

a satisfactory stay I liked many aspects of this hotel: the location is wonderful, the building and surroundings are beautiful, and the staff was accommodating. The air handling in the room was poor, so I am not sure how comfortable it would be during a very cold or very warm part of the year.

Good deal in London We were very pleased with quality/price ratio of this small hotel near British Museum and Russel Square. The room was large (unusual in London), with large bathroom (shower and tub) and kept very clean and quiet. This is one of several hotels in the same block owned by the same company which share facilities-like breakfast rooms. Had a problem with in-room internet service which was solved by free use of internet in sister hotel. Traveler's tip on recreational activities It is interesting (and cheap) to hop on one of the city buses (double deckers) for a long trip across/around the city. (Maps with bus routes available on line, or on signs near bus stops) We took a bus from Russel Square to Elephant and Castle (Imperial War Museum) and then went on the same bus route to North Greenwich (O2 Dome). This rather long bus trip winds through southern neighborhoods--you get a view of everyday London.
