Globetrotter Inn Hostel London (The)
Ashlar Court, Ravenscourt Gardens - W6 OUT London
This is an extraordinary property, located in a peaceful location just outside the centre of London but well connected by tube to the heart of the City. It is ideal for backpackers or those travelling with a budget. This is one of the best budget accommodation in London, with extraordinary facilities: pub with beer garden, shelter for hiring bikes, gym, small supermarket, internet point, kitchens and even a traveldesk to arrange your day trip into London or excursions in the UK. Plenty of CCTV cameras make the place ideal for those travelling on their own or with friends. Family with small children are also welcome. (02/07RP) It is a grade 2 listed building and was originally constructed in 1935 as the Nurses Home for the Royal Masonic Hospital which lies to the rear. It was designed by a famous Architect, Sir Bernard Tate who was well known for designing hospitals. When the hospital was first opened it was the forerunner of a new way of treating patients. The building was paid for by the Masons and all the plaques on the doors show the names and badges of the Masonic Lodges who provided the money for the construction. The hospital was opened by King George IV and Queen Mary. The hostel is located in the Hammersmith area, the nearest station is Stamford Brook (When you arrive just turn left out of the station and then next right onto Ravenscourt Gardens - you'll find the hostel 50 metres on the left) It is a peaceful residential location, the property has a nice outdoor space with sunbeds in the summer and a pub with beer garden.

As much like a pricier hotel as any hostel that I've ever been to. Its somewhat isolated location (at least as far as the touristy areas of London go) makes it a quiet but fun environment (the bar in the lobby is a bit wilder if you're so inclined).

Though a bit out of the way, Globetrotters Inn is a perfect spot for the college-kid in you. It is pretty much a party hostel, and most likely your dorm-mates will return to the room drunk, or maybe not return at all. The beds were nice, the bathrooms could use a cleaning, and the walls could have a bit of paint thrown on them. Luckily I was in a room far enough away from the bar that I couldn't hear the thumping of the bass all night.

Hostel was great but fellow travellers very noisy at night so would suggest you take ear plugs! Great location - restaurants, tube station, Thames Path very handy.

It is a very nice hostel, clean and safe, and it is very convenient if you want to be close to the airport for an early departure, and also accessible for going anywhere else in London by tube. My major complaint is that wireless internet is not free and that you have to pay for using it even if you have your own lap top.

In the hostel there are ticks, condon in the roof, cleaning very bad. I didn´t recommend this hostel to anyone.

Pretty big place so it lacks the character of a smaller intimate hostel but it felt very secure and the beds were great with individual curtains and lights for each bed. Had good showers as well which always helps.

it was nice to have a 6 bed female dorm to myself, and i like the privacy of curtains around each of the bunks. amenities were clean, needed more signage though. the keycard system is a bit awkward if you arrive short notice, you may not have cash on you to use it. there need to be more staff monitoring breakfast. overall, very good.

Bad O2 mobile network coverage in hostel, so if you need to use it, for instance for job seeking, better find another place to live.
