EI booked a room through Venere for the night of the 13th of January at the Chester Hotel and found it a comfortable stay. The Hotel is centrally located in London, close to many excellent restaurants and bars and with several large supermarkets within two-minute walking distance. Furthermore, access to public transport and almost anywhere in London is exceptional due to its proximity to Victoria station. I had read some unfavourable reviews on the Venere website but affordability was still my first priority. The room was newly refurbished, clean and well organised with a working television connected to a proper external aerial. The communal bathroom is also newly refurbished, fitted, equipped, and clean. In fact, I noted that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment, decoration and repainting. The staff is helpful and in view of my expectation, found the whole experience “a quite pleasant surprise”.

+ Staff were pleasant and helpful. location good. - Was being redecorated, but did not affect my room, which was very small. however i was merely stopping over for one night on way to gatwick airport, and so location was great for that especially at the price.

Lovely rooms, nicely furnished (IKEA!) and clean. The bathroom was the best one I've ever seen in a British hotel, same is true for the television, which actually worked ;) The staff was very friendly and helpful, as was everyone else in the area. There's a supermarket nearby, some restaurants and a great pub! The Chester Hotel is located near Victoria Station and especially recommendable to young travellers who are not necessarily in need of spacious rooms.

Hotel was partly being renovated, lots of all the day, no breakfast (was included), toilet was not flushing, shower everything but perfect, lights were partly burning, when we came only one towell for two persons etc.

Absolutely impossible to stay. Dirty, unfriendly and full of rubbish. The price should be about 10€ for a four persons room in order to correspond to the quality. All photos found in the internet are absolutely true, no fakes, thats what it really looks like (except from those of the hotels page)

I have stayed in backpackers hostels and tents and I am not fussy about hotels but this hotel was the worst I have ever seen. I stayed for an hour and went home because it was so bad. Read reviews on this hotel, they are all true. I would not recommend this to anybody!!!!

Although in absolute terms the quality/price ratio is rather poor, in relative terms for London it is not so bad. We stayed in a room rated as a family one (we are 4 people, small size) and the room was barely enough , I would rate it good for a couple. The bathroom was a prebuild one and tiny, similar to that of a Road Van but private and provided with hot shower. In any case I would not recommend this room for big and tall people. I would return to this property as I am not sure I would be able to find a better and cheaper accomodation in a location so central (very close to Victoria Station - no need for taxi when arriving/leaving). Cleaniness fair, very quiet location and with bathroom, owner friendly. That is enough for me.

For one day it's fine but I wouldn't recommend a stay of more than one day.
