Chelsea Lodge Hotel
268 Fulham Rd, Chelsea, Chelsea - SW10 9EW London
A great bargain at the heart of 'cool' London close to the most fashionable shops, clubs and restaurants. Above the famous L'Auberge French Restaurant, near the sights, and a Frommers magazine 'little wonder hotel'The Chelsea Lodge is on the boundaries of Chelsea, Earls Court and Fulham, and right at the heart of cool and fashionable London. Around are some of the best restaurants, shops, pubs and clubs in the city, all of which are frequented by locals and visitors. The places to see and be seen. Quite recently the Chelsea Lodge was featured in Frommers magazine as one of the best buy 'little wonder hotels of London'. It said 'A budget hotel on the Fulham Road - wow! A stay here would be a fun insight into real London life' Close by are many of the major sights - the Palace, Harrods, the river Thames, Parliament and theatreland, and on a commercial note the Earls Court Exhibition Hall is a short walk with Olympia not much further on. Underground stations and bus routes are also nearby. The Chelsea Lodge bedrooms all have private bath or shower, remote tv, direct dial phone, tea and coffee, hairdryer and radio alarm. The inclusive breakfast is served in the famous L'Auberge on the ground floor, which also serves varied and delicious food throughout the day and evening - it's known as one of the best restaurants in the area with lots of light wood panelling, pleasing decor and a broad range of French dishes and great wines. Other hotels in the London Lodge Group are the Abbey and Grange Lodges, both in Ealing in West London. Please note the hotel is the upper floors above the restaurant and does not have a lift. Thus it is unsuitable for wheelchairs and those with mobility difficulties

+ The fact that it was so close to Stamford Bridge - No one knew where it was when we asked for directions.. In fact no one had even heard of it

+ Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Jackie(I think) the girl from Melbourne. Breakfast was fine. Bed was great, best 2 night's sleep I've ever had away from my own bed. It was great for access to Stamford Bridge where my conference was on Monday

+ Ideally situated for a game at Stamford Bridge & The West End. - I have stayed there a few times and it seems to be getting progressively worse. Room not hoovered. Toilet couldn't flush properly in room 11. The door handle in room 6 came off in my hand

+ Location - I stayed for a week and my room was never cleaned once. Front security door broken, general state of disrepair. About average for cheap London tourist hotels but I've never had no maid service for a week anywhere else.
