I thought this hotel was awful for three stars. It was more like a star and a half. the room I was given was in the basement. it had the smell of stale cigarette, mildew and mint. the sheets were hard and you could feel every spring in the mattress. I checked out early.

The Byron is a great, attractive hotel. The rooms are small, and movement is limited, but if you're in London, hopefully you aren't planning on staying in the room. There is a great continental breakfast, and an English breakfast option (a bit on the pricey side). The nearest tube stop is under construction, but the hotel is just off Oxford St., so taking the bus to the Noting Hill stop is easy. The walk is not bad either, and shopping and dining is nearby.

+ Location was good, very close to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens and Notting Hill. - Breakfast was generally good and the staff was kind, but they could do better if they were better trained.

Friendly hotel in a very good location - close to nightlife & public transport for seeing the sights . Included breakfast was good .

The hotel was clean and well-run. It is within a 5 minute walk of the Queensway Metro, and within a 15 to 20 minute walk Paddington Railway Station.

Good quality, great breakfast, room was not spacious, and the price is hight for a continental hotel, but my overall stay is good. I can recommend this hotel

The hotel is situated at a quiet street, full of similar small hotels. OUr room was small (as expected) but clean with window overlooking gardens belonging to private houses on the other side, so we could have heard birds singing!. The only downside was that towels were not changed during our stay (4 nights). Ohterwise we were satisfied also with location (quite close to subway and kensington gardens). I may recommend the hotel for those who seek decent accomodation for a good price.

The hotel lost our reservation and booked us at a nearby hotel, which they claimed had similar services, but was a substandard room without air conditioning. The staff was unhelpful.
