I found the rooms rather basic. Although they were the standard rooms, rather than deluxe etc, they were very basic - tired decor, slightly uncomfortable beds (seemed old), and a very small ensuite (not much bigger than a wardrobe). Had I realised this, I would have considered a better grade of room. The description of the standard room, however, led me to believe it would be nicer than it was and would be adequate for my needs.

The staff is nice, but the hotel rooms are small and the price high. Of corse I have in mind this is a Mayfair, but next tome I will look for a hotel not situated in the top center with larger rooms and not that old furnished..

We booked a double room, but were given a twin. The window (single glazed...) was cracked from side to bottom, and repaired with sellotape. The carpets in the corridors were stained. I was looking forward to the highlight of a stay at any British hotel
