Best Western The Delmere Hotel

130 Sussex Gardens - W2 1UB London

You'll feel right at home as soon as you pass through the splendid colonnade entrance of the Best Western Delmere hotel. It is a fine stucco "town house hotel", originally designed by Victorian architect Samuel Pepys. It is close to Hyde Park and Park Lane, Sussex Gardens is a delightful tree-lined avenue built to provide spacious homes for affluent Victorians. Inside the Best Western Delmere hotel you'll find the hospitality warm and friendly and the surroundings traditional and intimate. The Best Western Delmere hotel is a real home away from home that thoroughly deserves its prestigious Certificate of Distinction from the British Tourist Authority. It is the smallest hotel in London with just 36 rooms. Officially a 2 star hotel (75% AA), we however offer you all services and facilities of a larger 3 star property. Proudly, the Best Western Delmere hotel holds the highest grading of any AA listed, 2 star hotel in London. All rooms are en-suite and have tea and coffee/tea maker, satellite television, direct-dial telephone, Dataports, a safe, hairdryer and electronic locks for extra guest security. Our reception is open 24 hours. We also have a cozy Jazz bar where guests have a rich choice of whiskeys, Belgium beers and liquors. The comfortable lounge with its small library is just the place to relax or to read one of the complimentary daily newspapers or magazines. Our restaurant, La Perla, serves good quality fresh food, where there is a full a la carte menu or our chef's special, fixed price 2-course menu.

+ 2 minutes walk from Paddington station. Quiet area. I got free Wi-Fi from a neighboring public access point. - The single room was extremely small.

The single room was indeed VERY tiny, but nicely decorated. The room and bathroom were well kept and clean. Both the continental breakfast buffet and the cooked English breakfast were OK and really good value for money (I've paid much more for much worse breakfasts in other London hotels).

I thought this was well located near the station, and attractions in the UK. The map to get there should be easy, but it took sometime to work it out as the map was very small. My upgraded room on the first day was great, but the second day, I had what could have been the smallest room at the back outside the main section of the hotel. If i had more than a day there, it would have been extremely claustraphobic. Meals at la Perla breakfast were great. Dinner was a little disappointing but still good value. The service was very friendly, and I commend the staff!
