i only paid 37 pounds a night for a single including the continental breakfast, which was generous, including everything but eggs and bacon. i don't know why the website has those high prices. when i booked on line, it was sooo cheap. i have been going there for years whenever i go through london and it is a sort of a dowdy old lady, down, but holding on to those old english traditions. after a brief fling when it called itself the paraquito and got hawaiian motifs splashed around for a while. it is back to its old-lady self, like sensible shoes, shiny old tweed skirts and plenty of soap and hotwater...all the stuff that made the british empire and capitalism thrive. convenient, because you take the tube direct to earls court from heathrow. at the tube station, now there's even a ramp so you can trolley your luggage up the last 8 or so steps to street level. when you come on the piccadilly line (?)from heathrow, you get up from the tracks in a lift, but if you find yourself coming on the other line (district or jubilee?) from somewhere else with luggage, i didn't see any lift. my mattress was lumpy, but there were all of the basics, even internet both free on their computer and on hotspots around the lobby for your laptop.

however, you might choose to stay here for the free breakfast, close proximity to Earl's Court Tube, and its value.

Located around the corner from Earl's Court underground station which is served by Picadilly line from Heathrow airport and the District and Circle lines. Elevators avail. from all 3 to street level. Hotel on quiet residential street off a small busy but very comfortable (safe) commercial area with pubs, restaurants, banks, internent cafes, grocery store, pharmacy, laundramat, etc. One side of hotel is more recently remodeled; the other worn and due for remodeling. Both sides have larger than usual ensuite bathrooms, ensuite coffee makers and basket of free coffees, teas, and snacks. Beds were comfortable. All 5 of the front desk staff and 4 breakfast staff we saw were west. European English fluent, courteous, and professional. We payed less on our return stay since we used their recommended www.bookaroom.com website. Great for getting to Heathrow or London center (20mins). We stayed in a cold March and the rooms were very warm. Water pressure and temperature were perfect. Free wifi in nonsmoking lobby. Free DSL pc in onsite smokers bar. I don't think we'll use a different hotel when flying in/out of Heathrow.

Overall, I would say this was a decent, safe and inexpensive hotel in a good location.

My room was very small, but considering it was just me, it was no big deal. Comfortable bed, bathroom and shower in the room, desk, television, phone, and room service (for an additional cost).

For England standard, this hotel provides clean & nice room, with teapot inside the room, comfortable bed and good breakfast. Only problem is that we were provided a basement unit, which has a lot of trouble to go through all doors and elevator does not reach certain level.

I have stayed here on a couple of occasions: On each occasion I have had good service, and good food, although I do not enjoy the "rugby scrum" to obtain it from the buffet! It is a shame that the hotel is so shabby and tired. I think it could do with a good clean too.

The hotel is fine, even though the impression from the web site makes you expect something more. Close to the tube. Our room was very spacious, but did not give us the feeling of cleaness.Forniture quite dismal.Breakfast to be improved!

Stayed twice at this hotel. Location is great. On the picadilly tube line so convenient to get to/from Heathrow. 2 min walk to Earls Court Station. Hotel is a bit old. Rooms starting 100 are in the basement. bathroom is clean but a bit mouldy. Basement rooms facing the street get noisy as you hear the conversation of people walking on the street above. Lydie at reception is fantastic & gave us a room on level 5 for our next stay when we mentioned the noise factor. Breakfast is simple - toast, coffee/tea, rolls, ham, cheese etc but is filling. Free internet but not reliable. Would stay there again. PG, Australia, Mar-Apr 2008
