There is a good selection of hotels in Edinburgh, ranging from cheap hostels and B&Bs through to five-star luxury hotels. Budget travellers can stay in a range of hostels right in the heart of town. Many are converted from old Georgian townhouses, which makes them especially inviting to return to after a hard day sightseeing. Luxury hotels in Edinburgh are also impressive, though prices are more expensive than elsewhere in Scotland. Despite the large amount of places to stay, accommodation in the city does get full up at popular times, especially during the Edinburgh Festival, so book well in advance.
