Excellent for someone who wants to be close to the airport Good quality hotel at a reasonable price in close proximity to the airport.

+The quiet calm atmosphere from check in to check out and the patience of the staff as I tried to use my poor Spanish. -The pool area seemed to be closed on my second day which was a pity as I had planned to swim before heading back to the airport.

A couple of warnings Malaga public buses are great, and they pretty much run on schedule (which you can get from the tourist information centers). As far as I was able to determine, however, there is no general route map available, so you have to ask a lot of questions. Bus drivers, however, are pretty well informed about other routes as well as about their own.

+The staff were polite and helpful. -The dining (breakfast) room was very noisy. Due to roadworks and poor road signs it took us a long time to get to the hotel. We were only travelling from the airport and we could see the hotel within minutes but couldn't get to it. The car park needs to be clearly marked.

A couple of warnings It’s important to know that they have an airport shuttle - this information is NOT available at the Malaga airport, and people will tell you that there isn’t one. Taking a cab to the hotel is very expensive because of the airport tax. Another point about the shuttle is that it only runs during limited hours, so it would be good to check it out in advance if you arriving late or leaving early. The stop for local Malaga bus service to the center of town and to the bus station is about two blocks from the hotel (# 10 and # 19), but the staff seemed to be unaware of this. Aside from the shuttle issues and the lack of information assistance from the staff, this was a good place to stay. Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay Malaga public buses are great, and they pretty much run on schedule (which you can get from the tourist information centers). As far as I was able to determine, however, there is no general route map available, so you have to ask a lot of questions. Bus drivers, however, are pretty well informed about other routes as well as about their own.

Poor Value I booked the Novotel at short notice because I had no time to carry out research and the fact that Novotel is an international brand gave me some comfort. How wrong I was. Despite the fact that it was extremely warm, the staff refused to turn on the air conditioning, stating that it was out of season. ( March) We could not open the windows as the hotel was surrounded by busy roads and the noise was deafening. The pool was also closed, the same excuse being given. After one night, we changed locations and found an excellent hotel with more ameneties at a significantly lower price.

Convient to the airport Select this hotel in Malaga as we were flying in and arriving late, renting a car. So we drove and while the traffic was a bit crazy due to construction and the almost lack of road signage we found it relatively easily. It is about a 8 minite car ride from the airport. The food in the restaurant is good as is the service. We had dinner there. The next night we moved to the Malaga Centro which was more expensive but very centrally located. The Novotel was very modern and clean.
