El Palo is a suburb of Malaga, not a fishing village. However, decent beach, a few bars and restaurants and good bus service into the city.

+Although the room was as described, I personally found it a little on the dark side with insufficient natural daylight although I appreciate that this may be typically "Andalucian". For my four day stay iwith ease of access to Malaga it was ok but I would not spend any longer there. -Nothing I particularly disliked. However was a little taken aback to be asked to pay for my four night stay on arrival - this is not mentioned in the Hotel's particulars. This was requested prior to being shown my room and if I had wanted to move on to another location would have presented me with difficulties as I assume no refund would have been forthcoming.

+We were given a room with a window as requested. Security was very good. Although no parking we had no difficulty finding a spot on the side streets. The room and bathroom were attractively renovated. Liked that we could walk down to the beach so easily. Staff were very friendly. -The towels were not absorbent enough and a better quality would make a difference.

+We spent 13 nights at the Hostal. The staff is correct and helpfull. Very clean. The room seems just recently renewed. Niece colors. We noticed, that other rooms had no windows. So check if you need some sunlight -The mattress was very hard, so it was hard to find a relaxing sleep. However this seems to be a commen problem with spanish hostels.

+Nicely located (5 mins from a beach, 15 minutes from Malaga center by a bus, shops and cafeterias nearby). Very clean, very pretty building with nice inside patio for relaxing breakfasts -The staff doesn't speak English well (but surely enough to communicate about basics). No catering facilities - but this wasn't a problem since there are nice places to eat just a few paces away.
