Altos De Istan Hotel

Hotel Altos de Istan is located in the hills behind Spain's busy Costa del Sol, about a hours drive from Malaga Airport. The location is high above a pretty village with fantastic views and thats as far as complements go for this hotel. The hotel prides itself on being 4 stars - in my opinion, it's closer to being a 2 star. The rooms were very ordinary, the television signal had poor reception, the noisy minibar was iced up and had no alcoholic drinks and had out of date products stocked, the roof had some peeling plaster. The rest of the hotel suffered as well, with the sun terrace suffering from the noise from an adjacent air-conditioning unit. The lift was working but only had room for one person plus luggage. The indoor pool and jacuzzi were however very pleasant. The overall feeling was of a place that the owners kept clean, but paid little attention to detail.
