Stench from Drains! Though the overall impression of the hotel is clean our first room had a badly stained carpet and a safe which didn't lock, however it the overwhelming stench from the bathroom meant we had to move. The staff were perfectly accomodating about this. Our second room was better but still had a significant background whiff which is obviously part of a bigger problem! Our door key did not work ,which involved the porter having to accompany us each time with the master key! Though the staff we met were friendly, there seems to a lack of care at management level and I would certainly not wish to experience the hotel drain system in the heat of summer!

+ Great value for city hotel, handy for underground

Our stay was very comfotable but tea and coffee facilities in the room was greatly missed. I have never stayed in a Hotel where this service was not supplied.The nightclub next door should also be mentioned as noise was a slight problem

Nice Hotel in good location Get a 10 trips metro ticket for about 7 or 8 Euros for the cheapest way to get around. Free train to airport from passeig de gracia train station - two blocks away from the metro station

+ Clean, comfortable efficient desk staff, free minibar! - Breakfast appeared expensive, but we did not need to eat int he hotel

breakfast was good but expensive (Eat out). We may have been unlucky but electricity failed one evening between 11pm and 2am. A fire alarm went off in the early hours of another night - Staff merely shrugged their shoulders at these as minor inconveniences - no apologies. The hotel is a good base for seeing Barcelona. Well placed for Metro, Familia Sagrada (10 min walk) and Parc Guell (20 min walk)

+ Even though booking via easytobook did not work out, according to hotel reception-staff, we did get, after a short while the roomtype we booked. an italian group which arrived at the same time and had made the booking via easytobook, had to be relocated. - The beds resemble camping beds, the rooms of the recently refurbished part of the hotel are already quite worn down, you can clearly hear what your neighbours are doing :-)..

Very nice Hotel. Big rooms very clean. The only problem was the price of the breakfast, very expensive. I would stay again there.

+ Freundliches Personal, gute Lage, sehr guter Preis. - The breakfast was a little over-priced with a more limited selection to when I stayed a year ago.

+ The hotel is a short walk from alfons x metro station which we used everyday througout our stay and helped us easily and cheaply get all around the city. short walking distance from sagrada familia too and near park guell. rooms cleaned everyday. staff were efficient and helpful throughout. would stay here again! free wireless internet in our room too! - Immediate area was not exciting and you needed to get the metro to find something interesting...
