Sunotel Aston Hotel Barcelona

The location is seemingly not as convenient as if you stay in downtown, but if you take the metro you can reach the downtown in 10 minutes which is quite ok. Please check out from the hotel directly in regards to the closest metro station as the website info was wrong which made us walk pass through 2 metro stations and took more than 20 mins to find out the hotel location. On the first day of arrival, there was no air-con provided which we were mad at first, but it's good that the staff have moved us to another room the next day. In general, the staff are friendly and willing to solve problems.

+ Excellently located for getting around barcelona. very clean, nice room. helpful stff. - Water temperature of shower was quite tempramental, frequently switching from warm to cold and back unexpectedly.

Very good! I was a bit worried after reading the reviews, but this hotel is fine. Obviously it all depends on your standards, but as far as I am concerned, this hotel was the perfect deal for a few days in Barcelona: central, very easy access to the nearest tube (5 min walk), the staff was friendly and spoke English, Spanish and even a few words of French. The room was quite big, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. I would definitely go back there!

+ Staff are very helpful, hotel is in great location, clean. - We were not informaed in anyway that the rooftop terrace and swimming pools weren't open during the winter - the main reason for booking this particular hotel. very disappointing

+ Reception staff were very helpful in dealing with my enquiries. the room was clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was good.it was also pleasant to be bale to use the cafeteria during the evening - Dont think the solarium was in use

+ Staff (michael) tried so hard to speak english and to help us to view the city at its best i.e. methods of transport and places to visit and see. breakfast was excellent and staff again very helpful and willing to please. - Not a negative point as we knew when we booked that the spa and sauna was out of action, but would go back to use this hotel with this facility. more options of english menu for evening meals would be more accommodating.

+ Friendly people, very clean - The air conditioner is control from the front lobby,one has to call the reception if it's too cold or too warm(?) the sink was clogged and since was a weekend nobody could fix it. we changed rooms

Just another hotel There was nothing outstanding about the hotel itself but the location was quite good. Cafe next door for breakfast, internet cafe, restaurants and shopping within walking distance, Barcelona tourist bus stop short walk (5 mins?) away.
