Roma Reial Hotel Barcelona
Placa Reial 11 - 08002 Barcelona
The Hotel Roma Reial is a classic, no frills 1 star hotel located in Plaza Reial, one of the most beautiful squares of Barcelona, Spain in the heart of the Gothic Quarter and right next to Las Ramblas. Groups of people congregate in this Plaza with its palm trees and lively atmosphere and its outdoor cafes. You’re also near the Liceu Opera which was recently reconstructed to its former grandeur after burning down in a tragic arson attack in 1994. Liceu is fully functional today and houses many world class performances. Go down Las Ramblas toward the port and pass the Maritime Museum on your right housed in a breathtaking XII century ship building structure. Down an alley on your left is the curious wax museum. Stop by for a peek in the wax museum’s bar, El Bosc de les Fades, which translates from Catalan to the enchanted forest of the faeries. Night clubs are numerous in and around the plaza, a favourite is Club Real just off the plaza. The hotel has been recently renovated and it offers double, triple and quadruple bedrooms, all of which have single beds, en suite bathrooms, TV and heating and are kept spotlessly clean by the hotel's friendly staff. Some of the rooms have views of the beautiful plaza. A continental breakfast is served in the dining room, which retains its original stone arches. Recommended for young people who want to be right in the centre of the city and within walking distance to the sites and the nightlife. Culture, history, nightlife and cuisine all within reach.

Great location. Pity about the noisy corridors in the evening. Basic and clean facilities.

Hi. a triple room was quite small, and we had to ask for sufficient towels the next morning (which were promptly given) but if we have booked for three persons, they should have left the proper amount of towels. For the location it was OK, but lacking a bit of character.

The rooms are very small, but that was to be expected. They were also very noisy, and late arriving guests made it impossible to sleep till 2 am. The breakfast was very basic.

Hotel well situated and very clean. Drawback is used by groups of students, of which a few displayed bad behaviour and lack of consideration for other guests and teachers with them were not interested in doing anything about it. So I would not use this hotel again.
