Located at a very big road- but it was very central;)

Melon District Poble Sec is Barcelonas Best Value for Money Youth Residence!! The price in June 2009 for 2 pax sharing a room was less than 200 Euro for a week pr. person. The week we stayed, included several trips to the rooftop pool & sun-lounge, surfing the Internet for free and lots of good guidance and tips from the acommodating, friendly staff at the 24h frontdesk. We appreciated the sleek cooking lounge with our own fridge box and a shared freezer. The stove, oven and microwave gave us the opportunity to cook alongside guests from all over the world. From the large flatscreen TV in the cooking lounge, we could even follow the celebrated football/soccer team FC Barcelona's every move on the teams own TV channel.

Very sterile ambiance, staff was nice though. Small, cramped bathroom. Overall, not a bad hostel, but I've had better. Private rooms were nice.

- I was told on arrival that i did not have a reservation, after some time and a couple of phone calls by the receptionist it was revealed that the room had been booked for august not july by their reservation department.

In the room: 1.Walls might be better covered with wall paper or other kind of paints, to avoid dirt/hands or foot scratch marked. 2. Soap/shampoo, wouldn't it more efficient and hygienic in a fixed bottle hanging on the bathroom wall? 3. In the kitchen, microwave is a low quality, quite dangerous as we can see the red heat came out inside. 4. We were moved to other room which was better than the previous one. it was great staying in melon but the bad thing is the guy on the recepion named damiel is too SNOB then the hotel was nice outside then inside the rooms is modern but it's not yet finish the whole work of the rooms..

The guy in the reception desk did not understand catalan. He should, by law. This is not acceptable.

Very modern and clean. But very tight space in the bathroom which made it uncomforable.

+ Super modern hotel. Great concept. - Because of the construction zone next door, the white floors seemed always dirty. Add some color to the key card; we "lost" it on the white counters.

Nice area. Very clean with really friendly staff. Compact Would recommend this accomodation.
