Pension Cortes is a basic, clean hostel located in a beautiful old building in Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, in the Eixample district, next to Plaza Universitat, Plaza Catalunya and the Fira de Barcelona exhibition centre. This area is central and very lively at all times of the day and night, with shops, bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs. A short walk and you're already on Las Ramblas and in the historical Barri Gòtic (Gothic Quarter). You're even closer to the Raval district, which is quickly becoming the hippest part town for its nightlife. There are also loads of cheap eats at curry houses in this area, which is also the most cosmopolitan of the city. Visit the MACBA (museum of contemporary art) and the CCCB culture centre, with its interesting art exhibitions. At night go to Calle Joaquin Costa in Raval for the best bars, including the eclectic Benidorm with its electro-clash and alterno-music selection.Pensión Cortes hostel is clean, cosy, standard and spacious. The rooms have individual beds. Although the rooms overlook the street, there is relatively little noise so you will be able to rest in a comfortable, quiet atmosphere. The hostel is next to Urgell metro station (line 1) and many bus lines, which connect with the entire city and the airport. The mosaic floors are a special touch in this cosy hostel. Pension Cortes is a quiet haven that is still close to the action.
