Nunez Urgell Hotel Barcelona

Comte D'Urgell, 232 - 08036 Barcelona

Thirty years after its inauguration, and through its consolidation as one of the most well-known hotels in Barcelona, the Nunez Urgell Hotel is about to initiate a new project, the conversion of the innovative U232 Hotel, a hotel of renewed design that incorporates the style of the 21st century. This first Núñez i Navarro Hotel, which opened in the 70’s, is reborn today with an exclusive and quite opportune change in image. Its new name, an abbreviation for its location (Urgell, 232), lends it more personality without abstracting its origins. The redesign of the logotype, which combines classic shapes with modern and stylized lines, reflects the fusion of both eras that has so marked the hotel. The interiors of U232 Hotel, featuring soft tones and colonial brushwork, create an elegant atmosphere that is at once adapted to modern times and rich in the essence and philosophy of Núñez i Navarro Hotels. U232 Hotel is located on Urgell Street, number 232, adjacent to the bustling Avenida Diagonal, putting its guests within walking distance to some of Barcelona’s most emblematic tourist attractions, such as the Pedrera, Casa Batlló, Palau Robert, Casa Fargas, Casa Ametller, Casa Lleó Morera, Casa de les Punxes, Casa Calvet, and of course, the unforgettable Plaza Cataluña.

U232 was the hotel of our choice for its rating/price/and location. And it surely was what it claimed/promised. Hotel staff is very friendly and ready to help with all your needs. The room was clean and very well furnished. The free wi-fi feature...

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It was a tad farther walking to the sights than we had originally wanted or intended (we originally signed up for the Europark Hotel, but it turned out to be under renovation and we were reassigned to this sister ...

Slightly small room (especially the bathroom) but given the price that was not surprising and overall it was excellent value for money.

Front desk staff were very helpful, rooms were clean. Breakfast for 12 euro was not bad. Unfortunately my room was right next to a utility closet.

excellent room Walk around the city as much as you can, instead of going by metro/taxi as there are so many beautiful buildings (not just the Gaudi ones) and interesting things to see on so many streets. To go further afield, the open-top buses are great and the two day pass a much better option than the single day as it would be almost impossible to travel on all three of the routes, that are available on the same ticket, in one day.

This is a very recommendable place for people who look for a truely comfortable stay at a reasonable price per room/night. Also, Barcelona's interesting places are well acessible. My sole criticism: The breakfast seems to be overpriced at EUR 12.
