Husa Oriente Hotel Barcelona
La Ramblas, 45 - 08002 Barcelona
Oriente is a popular three star hotel situated in the city's main shopping and commercial area, close to the famous Liceo Theatre and the Gothic Quarter. The seafront is also close by. It is only 12 km to Barcelona airport and a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station. Oriente has a charming and beautiful facade, which is traditional with many small balconies overlooking the entrance. The 2 first floors are framed within tall arches and in between them are beautiful, coloured carved figures. The lobby is medium in size with traditional furniture and decor. Golden and white columns support a wonderfully adorned ceiling from which a spider-lamp hangs. This historic building has been completely renovated and offers 142 comfortable and spacious rooms with complete bathroom facilities, desk, chair, safe, direct-dial telephone, security safe and television with cable connection. The decor may seem old fashioned but adds to the uniqueness of the hotel. This hotel does not offer double beds. Room service is provided and pets are welcome. The hotel restaurant is open only for breakfast and is probably the most beautiful part of the hotel. Tables are placed around an inner circle adorned by captivating chandeliers. A marvellous skylight lets in exterior light and traditional Spanish cuisine is served. The banquet and conventions rooms can be used for business meetings, product launches or private hire. Guests do not need to worry about parking with a public car parking only 100 metres away. Guests also have the use of a laundry facility and where possible a wake up service is available. Additionally services include elevators for all guests to have easy access to all levels, a car rental desk, fax/photocopy service and babysitting on request. This is the most popular tourist hotel in town so book up or miss out. One of the oldest hotels in town and at the moment under renovations till the end of 2006, although some rooms have already been finished.

+ Reaaly helpful guy on reception from blackpool! on ramblas near the tube , market and all tourist attractions...walk a few blocks for cheaper prices....try the born district. - No negatives, we expected noise, bustle and excitement and that is exactly as it was!

Was fine for our needs Nothing special, but was one of the few hotels to guarantee us 3 twin beds, as I took my 2 daughters. Right on La Rambla which is good for being close to the action, and bad for the noise as they party til 5:00 in the morning on La Rambla. we asked for a room toward the back , which they accomodated for us, which helped some with the noise at night.

The hotel is in the centre of Barcelona, which is great, but Barcelona is noisy day and night, so you must consider loud nights, which is not the hotel´s fault. The breakfast (which is not included) is too expensive. We preferred to have it outside the hotel

Value for a family room Great location and family room for 4 worked well, we had a room at the back so noise was ok. Front desk staff were not particularly welcoming and when internet broke down they said it wasn't their responsibility as it was provided by a third party. All in all though I'd use again.

Barcelona November 07 The hotel was in a great location and the building and room were very nice. The beds were not very comfortable but they were fine. They should upgrade to Satalite TV but the local channels were fine. The noise outside can be brutally loud from the street activity. They put us in a family room which was two singel beds and a couch bed. Not very comfy but worked ok for us.

The room was incredibly noisy both from street traffic and from work being done within the hotel.
