I have just returned from Europe, The hotel is in a fablous location but the staff are very unfriendly, we had people barging into our room in the middle of the day without a knock, the manager is a very rude fellow and needs to attend a hotel management workshop. I would not suggest anyone to stay at this hotel. There are many other good hotels in Barcelona with fantastic room and staff.

+ This was a great choice of hotel for my husbands 50th birthday on which staff presented him with a bottle of champagne! ideally located for walking, sightseeing, public transport systems and the airport bus plus right beside a tourist information booth.i had gastroenteritits on the day we wwere due to leave and the hotel staff contacted a doctor, helped with finding an open pharmacy (it was a public holiday)they were brill. they also were able to identify us by name only a few hours after arriving - We were charged for an extra night as i was unable to vacate the room by 12md as i was too ill. eventually left about 4.30 however the staff were very apologetic about this

A wonderful hotel in renovated period building still maintaining classic features in lobbies whilst offering contemporary accomodation. The room was quiet, especially considering the location on Las Rambla. Highly recommended!

One of the perks of the Montecarlo is it's close to the Boquerio, the market with stalls of vendors and tapas bars. We had breakfast at Pinotxo each morning, a yummy, homemade pastry, fresh orange juice and a delicious coffee, a great way to start the day.

+ The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful (they recommended where to go and provided maps and brochures). The location on la Rambla was perfect for sightseeing on foot. Very quiet too. - Nothing! We would go there again without hesitation.

We're a little biased because we got upgraded to a suite for free; needless to say, it was an amazing room. The staff was REALLY friendly -- the only complaint was when we asked for a nice, casual, off-the-beaten-path seafood restaurant and were given directions to a really pricey place which just catered to tourists and cruise passengers. It was probably the worst meal we had on our whole trip. Other than that, and the jacuzzi not working, everything else was fantastic. It's RIGHT on Las Ramblas -- so definitely a touristy place to stay -- but close enough to the major sites to walk lots of places. We'd DEFINITELY stay here again.
