The Hostal Satram is a clean 2-star hostel next to Gaudí's famous Sagrada Familia church in Barcelona. Located in the Sagrada Familia neighbourhood, you will wake up to this towering and unusual structure. Spectacular example of Modernisme, a movement in architecture which is best understood as the Catalan version of Art Nouveau because of its use of natural themes. Here you can walk to the Passeig de Gràcia where more Gaudí structures line this street.Passeig de Gràcia is the Fifth Avenue of New York with its high-end boutiques. You’ll reach Plaça de Catalunya and beyond that, the Gothic Quarter which is rich in history. Close to the hostel is the Restaurant Les Cues de Piazzenza on corner of Avinguda de Antoni Gaudi and Lepant which has unbelievable pizza and even better “sangria de cava”. Eat and drink on the outdoor terrace at night and gaze upon the light up North face of the Sagrada Familia.You’ll be guaranteed a peaceful night's sleep at the Hostel Satram, which is located in a quiet semi-residential area 2 blocks from Sagrada Familia and 2 minutes to the metro station (lines 2 and 5). The hostel offers nine rooms, two with complete private bathroom and seven with shower and sink in the room and shared toilet. It is a no frills accommodation but it is comfortable and in a nice, safe neighbourhood. Good value, free internet service and friendly staff in hostel.
