Hostal L Antic Espai

C/ Gran Via De Les Corts - Barcelona

L´Antic Espai, such its name indicates, is a trip to ancient times where a quality service and its uncommon decoration are the most important values. The most insignificant details have been well cared for creating a special atmosphere. Every corner is filled with old "jewels" conserved perfectly. Corridors and rooms take the guest to old times of luxury and ostentation but impregnated by a humbled and helpful staff. All the objects that you will find at the hostel have the best quality. According to this philosophy, all the rooms have been equipped and decorated with unique furniture as well as the last technologies which take the guest to the real world. Its 10 rooms are all fully equipped. The first night of your reservation will be charge by the hotel in order to confirm your arrival. In case of cancelation within the cancellation policy the sum of money charged will be returned immediately by the hotel to your bank account.Cancellation policy for reservations longer then 5 nights: in case of failure to cancel your reservation in time, the hotel reserves the right to charge 50% of the total sum.

+ The hotel was beautiful. i enjoyed staying among the antiques and most things i wanted were an easy walk away. - No one answered the door when i arrived. i could not tell if there was a business there or not, and was quite distressed, and left with all my luggage for hours. only 1 employee spoke english, and all the guests i encountered while there did. that is a safety concern.

+ Friendly staff, clean, good location, secure. - Too small room, avoid single room with window to interior. distance between toilet and shower was only 25 cm which can be very uncomfortable.

+ Location, nice museum like decor - decoared with love, movies you could watch in room, internet access - Smell of bathroom, cleanliness, no windows and tiny room, although i indicated in my email that i am 195cm tall and need a bed large enough for me to sleep in, this was not taken into account the first night and after a largely sleepless first night though, i could change room - and bed

+ The hotel is lovingly decorated and furnished by the owners. they have searched far and wide for the pieces of furniture and art the decorate the hotel. the welcome and service received from all the staff was very warm and extremely helpful. the two owners couldn't do enough to help and made our stay perfect.

    - Very small rooms. dark entry - not lighted, then up two flights of steps in dark. not great feeling of cleanliness upon arriving.

+ Helpful and very friendly staff and very central location. spotlessly clean. - Very small beds (anyone over 5'6" would have a problem!)interior rooms with very little air - quite stuffy (air conditioning not working) and no breakfast included in price. after a business conference it would have been nice to relax in a lounge but i felt confined to my room as the 'lounge' is more of a hallway to other rooms with uncomfortable furniture so not very relaxing.

+ Good location at good price, cute rooms, free internet. - Must carry your bags up very steep stairs in a dark hallway. they missed our early morning wake up call.
