Hostal Bejar
Bejar 36-38 1º 3ª, 08014 Barcelona - 08014 Barcelona
A family-run, cosy, little 2-stars hostel of 22 rooms, with an excellent location and great public transport links and services. Within 5 minutes walking distance to Barcelona-Sants central train station (RENFE, Euromed, AVE, suburban train, metro and central bus station). It is located a 5 minutes' walk to Pl. Espanya, in the hillside of Montjuïc mountain, a fantastic green area where you will find Palau Sant Jordi stadium, the Olympic Ring area, the Miró museum, the Poble Espanyol… The view of Barcelona from Montjuïc mountain is breathtaking! In Pl. Espanya are located the Fira de Barcelona I exhibition centre, the bus stops connecting to Fira II and the airport, as well as the train station (FFGG) to reach the emblematic mountains of Montserrat. The hostel is well-equipped, clean and well maintained. It offers quiet, light and airy double rooms with individual beds and complete bathroom. All of them are basic, with few decorations, but clean and spacious. Depending on availability, they may overlook Bejar Street, which is not a noisy street, or may overlook a large courtyard, so the sun-light can reach the room as if it was overlooking the street. In addition, the hostel has heating, public telephone, common lounge with TV and accepts pets.

Despite having ended up in the annex to the hostel (quite more basic than shown in the pictures) the location proved to be excellent: very quiet street at three blocks from Plaza de España (which is also the first stop of the airport bus and has a subway stop to go into town), a 24h tyre repair shop around the corner (it was very useful as I had a flat tyre in my bike on Good Friday!).
