Hostal Barcelona Residencia is a clean, friendly hostel located just off Avinguda Paral.lel, on the border of the Old Town and a 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas. At the foot of Montjuïc mountain, the hostel is extremely close to the famous stadium where the Olympics were held in 1992. You can swim in the Piscinas Picornell, the Olympic pools which have both indoor and outdoor facilities. Or just down the street have a swim in the pool where the high diving events were held which has absolutely spectacular views. Still further on Montjuïc is the Joan Miró Foundation which also has temporary exhibitions, the castle and one of Barcelona’s largest and most beautiful parks.The hostel is recommended in the "Let's Go" guide to Barcelona. The decoration of its 63 rooms has a touch of retro 70’s, but it is clean and comfortable and in a quiet area. A 2 minutes' walk to Paral.lel metro station (lines 2 and 3) you’re near loads of cafes, bars, and the underground nightlife options in Raval. The Gothic Quarter is also not far. Poble Sec is an up and coming area with many options for nightlife. Friendly, comfortable and great value for money.
