The Hostal Apolo offers clean, standard rooms in its central Lafont street location, just off Avenida Paral.lel, a busy avenue a short walk from Las Ramblas which boarders the historic old town. The Barrio Chino, or Raval, is a colourful area with the largest immigrant population concentrated here. The restaurants in this area reflect this multiculturalism, there are curry houses, Turkish sweet shops and others featuring Indonesian, Japanese, Mexican and more. If you prefer a cheap unpretentious Catalan fare, try Romescu behind the Liceu opera house. Raval is where the young and hip go out at night to the best bars, after hours dancing at the Apolo Theater or La Paloma which ships in famous DJs from around the world.Raval is also a cultural mecca with MACBA, CCCB (contemporary art museums), Liceu opera and the Maritime Museum, which is housed in a breathtaking ship building structure which dates back to the XII century. Beyond the Raval is Las Ramblas and further on is the Cathedral and shopping in the Puerta del Angel. Also walking distance from the apartment are Plaza Catalunya, Plaza Espanya, Montjuïc and the Old Port area.The area is very well connected to the rest of the city with buses and metro trains from Paral.lel metro station (lines 2 and 3), all very close to the hostel.Near Las Ramblas and the Liceu green line metro station. 5min walking distance to Plaza Catalunya.
