Hcc Regente Hotel Barcelona

Rambla De Catalunya 76 - 08008 Barcelona

Housed in a modernist building built in 1913, the HCC Regente is a modern hotel sitting 150 metres from the sculptures, paintings and library of the Antoni TÃ pies. Located in the upscale Eixample district, this historic hotel is three blocks from GaudÃ's La Pedrera and about two km (one mile) from the Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art. The hotel's 79 guestrooms include contemporary furnishings, exercise bicycles, Matisse and Monet prints, minibars, satellite TV, and complimentary high speed Internet access. The building has retained many of its original modernist features, including the stained glass entrance and bar window. Modern features include five flexible meeting rooms and wireless Internet access in all public areas. There is no charge for compatible laptops, otherwise adaptors are available for hire. The roof terrace is open during the summer months and features a bar, swimming pool, and solarium. The raised deck offers fantastic views of Barcelona, including the spires of La Sagrada FamÃlia, Montjuic, and the distant Tibidabo. The bar at end of the lobby has a modernist stained glass window and still has the original 1913 cash register behind the counter, though nowadays it sits next to a computer. A TV sits in the corner and a large cubist style mural depicts the city. Drinks and light snacks are served all day. Many of the city's most beautiful landmarks are a short distance from the hotel. Las Ramblas boulevard is one kilometre away and it is a twenty minute walk to the city's harbour, Port Vell. Barcelona Airport is 25 minutes drive and a distance of 13 kilometres.

+ The location was wonderful - During our stay the power went out in our room. the hotel staff attempted, but failed to remedy this situation. only after a few hours did they offer us another room. the room had no view whatsoever (was an inside wall, might as well have had no window) and when i was checking out the hotel staff didn't mention it. as a result of their incompetence, i did not sleep (i was up for a few hours in the middle of the night while they goofed off attempting to look like they cared about getting us power) and did not feel that i was a valued customer. when i mentioned to the desk staff in the morning the problems, they were indignant and i had to really pressure to even get a 10% discount which was way less than adequate. if the staff were not so exceptionally poor, i would recommend the hotel. however, i will never stay at the hcc regente again.

+ The stay was made special by the additional extras the hotel had to offer such as champagne on arrival and the lovely roof terrace. Rooms were spacious and clean although we did not get to use the exercise bike on our one night stay! The location of thi

This was a beautiful small hotel at the top end of "Las Ramblas." The room was lovely with a marble bath and king bed. An atrium on the hotel roof gave a remarkable view of the city.

Poor air conditioning in actual rooms. Otherwise, a pleasant stay in a pleasant area of London.

This hotel is very central, only a 5 minute walk from Ramblas. The rooms were not as modern as they could have been, but seemed spacious enough. The rooftop pool is small but very welcome after a hot day in Barcelona. Great views and a free glass of champagne on the rooftop terrace.

Good location Regente was a comfortable hotel with helpful staff and a very clean room and bathroom. The price did not include breakfast and it was expensive to buy it at the hotel once we were there. It was situated in a nice area about halfway between Placa de Catalunya and La Padrera.

Very friendly welcome, hotel is ideally located near shopping, restaurants, and many of the city's attractions. We had a room on the 7th floor with a balcony views over the city, which was quiet. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.
