Decent Hotel Near Sants railway station This particular hotel is far from the action of La Rambla but is a 20 minute walking distance to beautiful Montjuic Park. We preferred to be away from the noise and characters on La Rambla but were a 15 minute metro line away with Terragona metro station only a 5 minute walk away and close a 5 minute walk to the large regional station, Sants. There is a decent bakery and grocery store around the corner but few restaurants, cute cafes, or shopping, which would have made the locale more interesting than it is. However, restaurants in La Rambla had bad to mediocre food anyway. I would suggest finding a restaurant in the Gothic Town (try La Luna). Hotel staff were very polite and helpful by offering us to check in very early and by providing a 50% discount voucher for the breakfast buffet which we unfortunately never tried since we slept in each morning! Free and smooth wi-fi access in the room and lobby was helpful. TV had limited channel selection. Room was a good size with large marble bathroom that had a great shower. The beds, however, were not comfortable - very, very hard mattresses which resulted in sleepless nights for me but this is a matter of taste. Seemed as if the bed sheets were not changed every day either. The rooftop gym also left a lot to be desired. Overall, a decent place to stay in a secure neighbourhood of Barcelona.

+ Availabillity of free internet access and printer made my work easy and could manage alot of my work away from home. - On check in they give me key of a room which already was occupied. i was shocked to walk in a room thinking it is empty. i suppost to receive one double bed room but they give me twin bedroom!!!

The Hotel is located in a relatively quiet surrounding with a near-by metro-station (100 m, 10 min. ride to the ramblas). The rooms are well equipped and clean. Hotel staff was very friendly (e.g. helped to get a rental car from a company in the neighborhood). The prices for breakfast are with 14 Euro in the usual range. If you do not want to spend this, you will find a bakery/coffee shop next to the hotel as well as a supermarket.

convenient for railway station, and easy public transport into town. room excellent, except would benefit from triple++ glazing, traffic noise throughout the night.

+ The hotel receptionist were really helpful and friendly. we asked for recommendations to places to go and were given full directions, a good map and friendly advice. we arrived early, but we were able to leave our bags there and were made to feel welcome. room was spacious and cool.

First of all, the hotel is in an excellent location (very near metro Station Tarragona on line 3)so you can move very easily => very very good to spare time ! It is for sure a 4 star hotel (very nice building, rooms & service (even a printed sheet put in the room every day for meteo forecasting !!), welcome, newspapers)...but TV channels are crap (MTV in German with non stop adds for SMS & rings for mobile phones...). Now talking about money, be aware you get with VENERE a very good price but you have to add 14 Euros per day and per person for breakfast (I hope it is good for this price but we prefered to eat in a bakery in the surroundings for 5 Euros for 2 -> 23 Euros saved per day : yes !!) and 13 Euros per day for the parking (ggrrmmbll... fair but I would have liked to see it included). Conclusion : very good but I would have liked to get a little more services (a cup of coffee included for instance)

Very small room - luckily there was only one person in the room. Breakfast ok - but hot food was cold. Staff efficient. Close to main railway station - Sants Estacio - and to Metro but not close to main tourist sites and central Barcelona - have to use Metro - about 5 stops to Placa Catalunya. Lots of local restaurants in the area. Overall - I wouldn't stay here again if I returned to Barcelona.

Hotel is undergoing renovation of equipment and furnishings. In my room shower and air-condition did not function 100% properly.
