Very close to the Ramblas, skip the Ramblas and go 2 blocks north on the Passeig de Gracia. It has upscale shops, dining, and outdoor entertainment that you will not want to leave. We went to our hotel at 1:00 AM and hated to leave because the place is so beautiful and extremely safe.

A very pleasant hotel, except a complete lack of information in the hotel room which one would normally expect to find. The daytime receptionist obviously failed the Charm School course, he was grim. The hotel itself was very comfortable and Service staff efficiently made up our room whilst we were at breakfast. Appreciated the crisp, snow white linen!

Centrally Placed - Good combination price quality This hotel has a old style grandeur on the piano nobile and comfortable rooms. Service good - parking next door (important in Barcelona) Room had not been properly cleaned (cigarette stub under the bed, old chocolate under television) but we would use again because it represents good value, with nice sized rooms, and the cleaning was probably bad luck. Good internet access free.

The location of Granvia hotel is excellent. Extremely central with acces to many tourist attractions as well as public transportation. The room was not as nice as in the pictures on their website, but overall it was ok. We asked for a room with balcony when we made the reservation and kindly asked it again to the receptionist when we got there, but they did not care about this request. I found that a bit annoying. The breakfast was good. Granvia is a very good choice if you are looking for a central hotel but you don't want to spend a lot of money on accomodation.

The hotel staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful. On 2 ocassions, 2 different staff members attempted to brush off my husband and I because they did not think we were guests. When my purse was stolen on the subway, the front desk denied they had a phone book (which he later brought out after he realized we were guests) and was reluctant to look up the US consolate phone number on the internet for us. Not to mention they knowingly gave us a room without airconditioning. When we asked the hotel to fix it, they said they couldnt get anyone out there that day so they gave us a new room across the hall. That night they knowingly put another set of guests in the horrible hot room.

I left my home and car keys in the hotel and asked that they be send to my home when I returned from Europe. Seve days after the request, and still no keys. Very poor customer service.
