Excellent location, you can walk everwhere to city/ harbour areas etc. The fresh food market of Santa Caterina is on your doorstep where fish/meat/cheese/fruit/veg are outstanding - this is THE place for foodies and self catering, but there are also plenty of excellent quality/value small cafes and a mini-supermarket locally too. The appartment is on 3rd floor (4th floor USA) and stairs though typical of the old city are VERY narrow and steep so you need to be both slim and fit to get the 6-pack or Cava to the fridge. The appartment is a good size for 2 or possibly 3 adults, but would be small for 4 or family with larger kids. It runs 'front to back' through the block so is light and airy (through ventilation must be a bonus when its hot as no A/C). It has been 'modernised' with usual attractive IKEA wood floors, fitting and furniture, But the shower room is bit old and stained and the separate WC is VERY small (I have experienced rather larger in a caravan !). If you are over 1.5M tall you cannot easily sit down with door closed, and as door opens forwards into the living room opposite the sofa, leaving the door open provides for some interesting conversations, so this could prove challenging if you are not on intimate terms with other guests ! The second 'double' bedroom is 'internal' and small, and would be better suited as single or for kids - but as only 2 of us it was not a problem. We dont watch TV - but its small, basic and only local progs, but DVD/CD player was a bonus.

Nice small apartment. A remark could be made about the small stairs to the third floor which could cause problems for specific people Due to a serious delay in Amsterdam we had to change our arrivaltime which was no problem, people were very understanding and helpful in changing meeting times. Aera to stay in couldn't be better in the middle of the old centre close to public transport.

The location of the place is brilliant: close to the old cathedral, many good places to eat and drink in La Ribera, some museums and other sights only a few hundred meters away. The market halls (Santa Caterina) are just around the corner. Great for food shopping.

Everything was OK. The only things are very narrow stairs (as mentioned by the others) and very strange window between rooms.

Barcelona was even more than expected! El Born Apartment was just the right place for exploring the city. In the heart of the old city, next to the cathedral. We recomand the apartment for everybody who can walk a rather steep stair.

Fantastic location, fantastic apartment. We had a few problems with hot water and lights blown - they were sorted out within a couple of hours. Staff spoke perfect English. Although the stairs were quite small (would suggest you take clothes in soft bag) the walk to the third floor certainly made you fitter! In great part of barcelona the windy side streets wre great to wander around with fab boutique style shops!

We had a pleasant stay in a magnificent city, but for safety reasons the stove should be checked.

We were 3 people,a little group of friends.First time at Apartment el Born. The rooms were clean and not very small.Only one problem:the stairs to reach the apartment!!A lot and very very little! The apartment is located closer to the Cathedral (S. Eulalia). Not far from the sea,the most famous shopping areas and the tube station.
