Continental Palacete

Free buffet 24 hours a day (food is ok, chocolate is great, beer is lackluster, wine is vinegar). Interior is a bit worn and furniture is flimsy. Great location, overall a great stay.

I stayed 2 nights pre-cruise in an inside room ,small but efficient & clean. I did not spend very much time in the room; mostly sight-seeing or in the public salon of the hotel (beautiful view). Buffet was great, especially breakfast, and having free coffee, soft drinks, beer and water available all day was a terrific perk! Great location only 5 - 10 minute walk to Las Ramblas, yet quiet enough for sleeping. The hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Would stay at this hotel again and recomend the hotel.

We loved Hotel Continental Palacete!! It was a great location! The free internet and buffet made a huge impact on our travel budget! Definitely stay here when in Barcelona!

The hotel itself offers a fantastic 24 hour breakfast/snack/beverage service which was clean, well-stocked, and a great amenity. The second floor sitting and breakfast room has balconies which look out on the street and should not be missed. The room makes a great place to people watch, snack, read, access the internet, or take it easy. A wonderful place to stay.

Excellent value. Perfect location. Wonderful 24 hour free buffet with lots of fresh fruit, nuts, hot items and San Miguel beer--stay away from the wine, but the chocolate covered walnuts were spectacular. Very helpful staff. Free internet and postcards. Very close to Plaza Catalunya and the tourist buses. Within walking distance of many fine restaurants. Very quiet. Mostly Americans staying there. Taxis right outside. Close to train and bus drop off.

Very nice features and location. Free wi-fi and 24 hr buffet is nice. Rooms are small and walls are a bit thin.

This was my very first trip to Barcelona and was glad to have picked the Hotel Continental Palacete. I arrived earlier than the check-in time and was impressed that they immediately went ahead and got the room ready for me to check-in earlier than I was supposed to (and give me the key!) The room was spotless and the 24 hour buffet was great. They have a nice balcony off the buffet area where you can sit and eat while enjoying the view of the outside.The only downside was there were steps to climb to reach the "lift" (word they use for elevator). I had two big suitcases so it was a little tough getting up the steps (time consuming bringing one at a time up the steps). But it is well worth dealing with the steps because the location was ideal--- close to everything and nice and quiet at night. Another BIG plus was they have FREE Internet service so it was great to be able to communicate with family back home without incurring additional charges. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again if I ever go back to Barcelona.
