Hotel Condes de Barcelona is a six storey property housed in two former manor houses, Casa J Dauradella and Casa E Batllo. They were renovated in 1997 to enhance their original 'moderniste' architecture, including a fairytale like stone staircase with intricate arches and columns. The modern reception is painted in white with contemporary sofas in neutral tones, corridors are panelled in fine sycamore and public areas have marble floors.The hotel's Catalan restaurant, Thalassa, has blue walls and seascape murals. The relaxed restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes, specialising in seafood, with quality ingredients carefully chosen by chef Antonio Martinez. Café Condal is a piano bar with forest green armchairs, stools, scented candles and panelled walls. A live pianist entertains every evening, and cocktails can be enjoyed on the roof terrace.The hotel has six meeting rooms for up to 350 people. Would stay in this hotel again. The hotel was in a great central location. We were able to walk to all the sights we wanted to see, some a short walk, a couple a long walk. I felt very safe in all the areas. The room was very spacious in comparison to other European hotels where I have stayed. It was also very clean. The bathroom was very nice. The staff at the hotel were all very helpful. I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Traveler's tip on dining We mostly ate tapas with which I loved. It just seemed to be the way to do dining. And, there are inumerable places to eat tapas and we enjoyed them all. Barcelona is a beautiful city and while walking to the sights we wanted to see and walking back to the hotel there were so many beautiful buildings to view and many, many tapa places to stop at and sample the food. All the food we had was very, very tasty.

we were on the 2nd floor and could still hear the tube/subway beneath the hotel. the staff was pleasant but not overly helpful for those not familiar with the area.

+ The hotel was very well situated making very easy access to the city tour buses and underground services. - I could kind of hear the trains underground, but didn't bother us much.

Location was great Take the double decker bus to go around, it's much cheaper than going around with taxi.

Hotel is situated in a great location. A few blocks away from Casa Mila (designed by Gaudi). Casual walk to La Rambla and close to metro station.

MODERN AND CHIC HOTEL IN GREAT SHOPPING DISTRICT!! We absolutely loved this hotel!! Its very modern and clean!! there is an awesome rooftop bar that has great views of barcelona. The hotel is in a great shopper district with plenty of restaurants. The hop on hop off bus is literally across the street and Gaudi’s Pededra and Casa Batillo is within close walking distance. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
