Catalonia Roma Hotel Barcelona
C/Avenida Roma 31 - 08029 Barcelona
The 3 star Catalonia Roma is located in the elegant Eixample district of Barcelona, Spain, close to major sites and major shopping. The landmark Pl. Espanya and Convention Centre is a few short blocks and has the memorable magic fountain, a display of lights and choreographed fountain effects set to music.Montjuïc is the site of the 1992 summer Olympics, where you can visit the grounds where the games were held and even swim in the pools where major athletes once rivaled for a medal. Gaudí's most famous works are also located in the Eixample, including his whimsical residences, the Casa Batlló and La Pedrera and his master work, still under construction, the Sagrada Familia. This area is extremely well communicated with the rest of the city by bus and metro. Travel further from Sants train station to Sitges, the popular coastal town, or the interesting Montserrat monastery. The Catalonia Roma was built in 1989 and renovated in 2002 and has 49 comfortable rooms available to guests. Pleasant and conservatively decorated, they include wireless Internet (throughout the building), interactive satellite TV with pay-per-view channels, direct dial phone, mini bar, strong box, air conditioning and rooms service. There is a meeting room for business guests, and car rental arrangements can be made from the reception.

Average This hotel was average. Clean etc. Limited parking in the direct area, no English TV channels and the movie channels did not work.

+ It's a good basae for barcelona, being close to the main station, making tube transfers easy. easy woalk to montjuic area. clean, tidy and helpful staff. - The bar was mainly unattended and atmosphere therefore was not of the best, but then that only applies if you want to sit at the bar.... street noise was very noticeable een with the windows closed.

+ Hotel was very close to the metro and very easy to get around, it is also in a quieter area of the city.the staff were more than helpful and no problem with the language barrier. - Hotel was fine but the food was expensive but with local food places around the corner this wasn't a problem.another problem we encountered is that they had no recollection of us staying there we had our paperwork but they didn't. problem overcome to the expensive of other people.

+ It had a bed... - My room was tiny, old. ceiling were loose panels, toilet was not fixed to ground. airco was barely producing cold air, but noisy during night. only window looked at closed inner part of hotel.
