Catalonia Hotel Park Putxet Barcelona

Catalonia Hotel Park Putxet Barcelona

Calle Putxet 68-74 - 08023 Barcelona

Super posh area - El Putxet is the location of the 4 star Catalonia Park Putxet, near the emblematic Parc Guell, Gaudi's creation and one of the main attractions of Barcelona, Spain. This area is extremely well connected to the Las Ramblas and Pl. de Catalunya by FGC metro el Putxet, city buses and the Lesseps metro (about 12 minutes). For a refreshing change of scenery, head down to the Gràcia neighbourhood just down the hill. This bohemian area has a small town feel with its narrow streets and outdoor cafes in breezy plazas. The nearby Putxet Park is worth a hike up for jaw-dropping views of the city - not recommendable for the easily winded. The surrounding area offers a glimpse into the forbidding wrought iron gates of Barcelona's frightfully rich. This spacious hotel has 1 suite and 140 rooms, and almost all of them have a view, many with a balcony or a terrace. All rooms are extremely neat and tidy, equipped with air conditioning, direct dial telephone, interactive satellite TV with pay-per-view movies, Canal + and a complete marble bathroom with a hair dryer. Catalonia Park Putxet offers 2 meeting rooms and 2 restaurants, as well as a bar and parking facilities. In the restaurants try the excellent cuisine de marché while enjoying the fantastic view of the city from the panoramic restaurant. Wifi internet connection is available throughout the building.

This hotel does not in any way fulfill the criteria for a 4 star hotel. If stars are given out for having a restaurant and hot water in the rooms, perhaps it would comply. However, the rooms are poorly laid out. There was one foot between the end of the one bed and the closet so t was impossible for one person to be looking for some clothing and the other to pass by. There are safes in the room for which you are charged extra. I cold hear other people in other bathrooms when I was in the bathroom because of some unusual type of central space off that room. There are very small beds. There was no way to understand how to use the phone just to call the desk. When I went down in the morning to get some help just to figure out on a map where I was going, the one staff person behind the desk asked me to wait until later because she was overburdened checking out guests. There was not even a Kleenex box in the room, although there was a small pack of Kleenex like those you would but in a pharmacy to keep in your pocket. The food in the restaurant was terrible. 4 stars should feel like a very luxurious experience. Although this hotel may have had the amenities to make 4 stars (whatever those are?), in no way was this luxurious experience.

Good for business travels, but the stairs are hard to navigate for any strollers. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. They were also able to assist with suggestions on where to eat, things to do, catching the bus, etc. The hair dryer was a joke. It looked like a vacuum attachment and was broken so air barely came out.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It got my first trip to Europe off to a good start. I hope to be able to return one day and stay there again. The only problem I encountered was a plugged up sink, but it was taken care of the nest morning. Sincerely, Mr. Riggs

Not impressed Unhelpful staff greeted us on arrival and we were kept hanging around in reception for half an hour while they sorted paperwork. Once we had checked in we finally got to our room which was slightly small to say the least. The window looked out onto other hotel room windows and a small courtyard between with cigarette ends decorating the floor. The walls were a bit on the thin side and after the possibly slightly drunk and always loud American tourists decided it was time for bed, we could hear their conversations from the room at the other end of the hotel! The breakfast was standard help-yourself style and maybe best avoided if a local cafe can be found. Minor building work was going on in the reception area but I can't really knock off marks for that! Staff not overly helpful or easy to speak to. Location wise, tube station in 5 minutes walk and the Gaudi park is 15-20 minutes away and a nice place to have a wander for no entry fee.

Is very sad arrive to un hotel and find a room that you have to ask for a new cleaning. Dust and air on the flor, soap of the previous costumers on the bathroom is not acceptable. Much more sad is if that happens twice during your stay. Not to have a bed

The room was very dirty, we hade many bugs in the room. I stayed 22 days in Spain and all the Hotels had the connection at Internet for free, there was not free and extremely expensive.

+ We were moved to Catalonia Las Ramblas due to overbooking. They handled it very well and made an easy transition. We enjoyed the room and the location very much. - I didn't care for the bathroom which does not have much privacy with an almost see-throug

The hotel is a 4 stars one, it is very clean and you have everything you need. It could be your best choice if you are rinding by bike or car. But if you are using the metro system it could get a little bit hard to get there because you got to walk around 5 blocks to get there.
