Casa Con Estilo

Casa Con Estilo

Calle Balmes, 395 - 6º 1ª - 08022 Barcelona

In San Gervasi, one of Barcelona's most sophisticated neighbourhoods, you will find the palace-home called Casa con Estilo, a 350 m2 guest house which may also be rented as a private apartment. This accommodation is situated in a building built by Catalan gentry at the start of the 20th century, just 10 minutes from the city centre by train (Placa Catalunya). 100 metres from Placa Joaquim Floguera with its gardens and market (open from Monday to Saturday) and public parking. The neighbourhood is residential yet very lively thanks to its many shops, bars and restaurants, visited mainly by locals who know where the good places are; you won't find many tourists here. An ideal option for a birthday celebration, New Year's Eve or a family Christmas, this apartment sleeps 12. There are 5 bedrooms (one with a private bathroom), 3 bathrooms, a large dining room and 2 impressive terraces with city views. The regal, Alfonsino style dining room has a hundred year old, 3 metre long dining table for 12 people. Casa con Estilo offers all modern conveniences such as heating, air conditioning, Internet access and a laundry service. Guests can not cook at the apartment but they can request a cook or catering service. The house keeper lives in the apartment, making sure everything is in working order and taking care of cleaning from 7-12am and preparing breakfast for guests (included in the price). A luxurious, upper class Catalan house where you can experience a very different Barcelona, off the beaten track. Beautiful "old Europe" apartment in the north section of Barcelona, conveniently located next to the metro stop. It was a bit tricky to locate at first. There's a small sign on the building and you must then take the antique elevator to the top floor. But once you know where it is, and have a set of keys, this place is a gem. It appears to have once been a family residence years ago, nicely furnished and beatiful detailing of inside. Our room was a bit small, but this being Barcelona, hanging out in your room would be a serious waste of time. I look forward to returning to Casa Con Estilo. Barcelona is an amazing city. Patrick

6 Day stay in beautiful Barcelona made very convenient by staying @ Residence Casa Con Estilo. Great location just 5 metro stops from the center of the city ( PL. Catalyuna). Safe neighborhood with some good restaurants. Hotel is 2 floors of a early 20th Century building. Beautiful views of the neighborhood, elegant dinning room for sitting and breakfast, computer area, quiet. Spanish speaking staff on premises. Only drawback, narrow old elevator was out of service a few days and six flights of stairs can be difficult, especially with suitcases or packages. Would stay again.

A pleasant place with a lovely atmosphere and well locatedclose to a metro station, 10 minutes out from Plaza Catalunya. The roof terrace is fantastic on a sunny day and the breakfast was delightful (lots of fruit and a freshly baked cake very day). It would, however, have been nice if there was a mirror in the room (I was on a shopping holiday!)

    - I was asked to pay in advance, but receive confirmation of payment (which i had to specifically ask for) only later. when i refused to do so, the owner disturbed me in my romm at 9 pm to yell at me and threaten me with the police. the romm was tiny, and had a view towards a grey wall only one meter across from the window. as for the next question: i would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

This city is expensive and one can easily pay 80-90 euros for a dive. This hotel is in an elegant townhouse, as the pictures show. We loved the audrey room-- found it quite romantic and the bathroom very spacious by European standards. Everything was clean though the built-in armoire had a bit of "old house" smell-- just old wood-- not rot or mothballs or anything. The noise outside the window might bother some but we were on the 5th (?) floor or so, so we slept soundly. The neighborhood is not quite what I expected-- somewhere I read it was "posh" but that's not in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. However, it's a 1 minute walk to the metro stop and if you choose to go down to Las Ramblas on foot, it is only about 30-40 minutes (and an interesting walk if you like checking out normal-type shops). The breakfast room and patio are extremely elegant. The staff is kind and professional. I would come back to this hotel in a heartbeat. A great value-- very elegant public areas, though the bedrooms are chic and funky.
